it should matter. We are paying enough for it to matter. Only two schools are paying over $1.2 million for college basketball coaches (Baylor- 2.4; UCONN- more).

On the positive side, recruiting has kicked into high gear over the last few years. There are 7 top 20 recruits on the roster next year: Brown, Mompremier, Landrum, Cox, Chou, Richards, Morris. That should deliver multiple final 4s and championships.

Unfortunately, Texas will have 7 top 20 recruits as well. UCONN 7 also.

Thanks for that!

Sad for the girls, but not surprised. To me, it has been apparent for a couple of months that this team had a fatal flaw to win a championship which is lack of elite guard play. There is not an athlete on campus that puts out more effort and has more grit than Kristy Wallace. And she is a damn good player. But she may think like a PG guard from a mental perspective but athletically she was used and abused tonight. Alexis Jones is a 2 guard but did her best. We lose despite shooting a ridiculously high FG%. But that is what happens when you lose the turnover margin that wide plus was too damn slow on D to prevent a 5 foot 2 guard from getting clean shot after clean shot.

Really, Kim Mulkey's teams are becoming just like Bill Self's. And hey that is not bad. 99% of the programs in the country would take that. It just may not get Kim many or any more championships.

Sic Em.

Our guards were slow but the little guard was getting open because our trailing defender was getting picked under the basket by their other guard. They were head hunting under the basket and creating a huge amount of space. Refs never called anything but could have in nearly every 3 they made. That being said, Miss St made the shots.

Thanks to Brian and Sic'em for giving WBB more coverage and in-game calls than most would for wbb.

Hope as many of you as can will re-up for this site. I'm pretty sure I'm getting MORE in return than what my annual subscription is paying for.

This is so disappointing, to say the least. But then I took a moment and thought of all the teams out there who would do anything to have the program that we have. I read a comment that the poster made light of the Big 12 titles. Really? Every year we are mentioned in the same breath as UConn, ND, Stanford. We have a tremendous program in that each year we are contenders. I love looking up and seeing the banners. Yes, we have fallen short of our expectations the last four years, so has everyone else except UConn, lol. I love this school, I love everything about it. I have loved watching it grow and succeed. We are no longer the team (in any sport) that everyone wants to play. We have now become the team they fear, but will never admit it. Don't worry, we will be back in the championship game and there are more banners to hang.

The observations about why we lost were very good and accurate. Wallace is a very good player, but she is not an elite player,. at least yet Prince is a decent defender and good shooter when she gets her shot, but she is not really quick, and she is not a ball handler. The turnovers were the biggest, but MSU pressure caused those turnovers. Schaefer had a good game plan for us. We will be a Top 10 next year and maybe a Top 5, but we are going to face the same problems defending quick, athletic guards. I like Nina Davis. She has been great for Baylor, but teams with 5'11" post players don't win national championships. In a way, this team did about what they should have done. Congratulations Lady Bears on another very successful season. It is a good thing to be disappointed that you didn't get to the Final Four.

Thanks

We were asked to expand and we did. Bailey is doing a great job on covering the games.
