LSU fans don't support women's basketball, that's for sure. Pre COVID year, their home games averaged about 2k fans a game. I know Kim is from that area, but I once lived near there in south Louisiana and I would never live there again. Of course I wasn't making 2 million a year.

Support will surge initially and consistently grow as she wins big.

This, they will get behind her when she brings the entire Baylor roster with her and starts winning big. I am not close to the program, but you have to think there is way more than the Mack comments about her opinion of the stadium location. I have read a ton of the comments on the message boards, but still haven't seen what Mack said, meaning a quote. What did he say exactly?

In the worst circumstances surrounding the Women's Basketball Program, where covid pretty much took the starch out of the first half of the season... we rose. I'm praying for decisions that are best for Baylor and for our amazing coach and we can rise through this as well. We owe her everything...including her name on the basketball court and maybe a statue out front. I think this is about respect and promises made and broken. I think honoring this amazing coach would be the absolute right thing to do, but if she leaves like this...that is going to be next to impossible. Praying for wisdom and discernment, because, for her, I know its not about money. Either way, God bless you, Coach. You and your family will always have my prayers.

Now I suppose you could ask is it the decision KM is making or is the the decision the KM has already made and now its players turn to decide things. ????

The same way Google Engineers look themselves in the mirror after leaving to work at Apple....

For everyone other than the actual coaches, it's very emotional and way more than a job, career, or profession.

We lose our coach, staff, and players? Why not just shut down the program and openly violate Title IX since BU admin resent females who express opinions different than their own. Or if this is about balancing the department budget, cut the salaries of non productive participants.

New personalities but same mind set as those that told Grant Teaff he could not coach and be AD and you know the rest of that story. How long did we suffer from that?

I am rather neutral on this. And I say that in the vein that I do not know what goes on at the school in terms of whether Kim treats people as poorly as some folks say they do. If it is true, then she should leave and if not I will be sad to see her go.

But folks making posts that this is a ploy to not put money into woman's athletics is wrong. The president of the school is a female former player married to a former basketball player and whose only child was a college volleyball player. They are rabid fans at all of the games for crying out loud. Baylor will have a very healthy budget for Kim's successor

Well Grant hired Darell Johnson which was a disaster and made us eligible?for death penalty after the Bliss scandal.

AD should not include balancing his department budget in this conversation then.

Don't think that is the issue

Besides our financial commitment to ladies basketball dwarfs most of the mega state schools

If we lose after Kim, it will be because we made a bad hire who has the resources but did not get the job done

If that is the case, then that will be on mack

My guess is we will fare about the same as Tennessee has done post Summit.

She can't bring the "entire" team. LSU already has players. Forcing them out somehow would be an incredibly stupid PR move. Some here might transfer elsewhere, but these are college students. Many have no real shot at a professional career. How many we would keep would depend on who the next coach would be, and I suspect for many personal choices to remain because of closeness to family, relationships with professors, and current romances at Baylor. And then, some people just don't want to live in southern LA.

The reason Baylor was so crappy before she came was that there was no commitment to the sport.....really no commitment to much of any sport. Despite all their other flaws, I think the light has been seen on the stupidity of ignoring the benefits of competitive teams to the image of the university. No elite team right now, even UConn can lose its head coach for whatever reason without taking a hit, with the possible exception of Stanford because of its academic reputation and ideology. Baylor will take a hit if this happens, but I don't think it will be long-lasting or anywhere near the doom and gloom some posters throw out.
