Some of the other posts on other threads basically are saying why would Rhoades even consider Molly. I say why not. I would much rather hire a rising star than a mediocre or even a mature good coach. There are also several other rising stars to consider, but Molly is very impressive. I trust Rhoades to make the right decision. His track record is good.

I really like the idea of a rising star with 20+ years more to coach.

Looks like Miller has the competitiveness to replace Mulkey. She values defense and hustle, which sounds familiar. It won't take long for the current players to see the similarities.

Miller gets my vote.

I think it'd be a surprise if Mack went that way. I'd be for it though. You'd get a high energy coach with a lot to prove so effort and drive would be there. My concerns would be of course the transition in skill level, less inroads to recruiting at the top level, and also the view of the current players on a gamble like that vs a top 5 established coach. There's the talent here now, so I'm not sure potentially wasting that opportunity on an experiment makes sense. With that said I wouldn't be mad if she was the next coach.

Watching Miller's videos, I can't imagine that the current players wouldn't take to her. And that is all she would need. Win this current teams trust and loyalty, go deep in the tourney next year, and recruiting will take care of itself.

You cannot hire a coach on keeping the same players. Coaches are different. Schemes are different. Coaching emphasis is different. You hire a coach that brings in their own players and wins. It is a bonus if they are able to keep the team and get them to change. The biggest challenge to change is getting people to accept it. Is a new coach going to be able to tell our girls something different than Kim and they will listen? If not, they got to go.

Normally Blue Blood programs don't take chances on up and coming D2 coaches with no track record of successfully landing D1 top level recruits

Miller would be just fine for programs who haven't had much success.
Teams on our level need a proven D1 coach or at least a top level assistant who is a proven recruiter.

I noticed Vanderbilt just hired Shea Ralph from Uconn. We shouldn't become a training ground for up and comers

You want someone who can recruit? BU can offer DiDi Richards 4-5 times the money that she could make in the WNBA if she made a squad. See if Miller and DiDi would have an interest in that situation.

BU won't hire her, but it sure was fun reading her bio and watching a couple of interviews.

I think DiDi is my favorite Lady Bear of all time, and I hope she continues to be an ambassador for the program. She's intelligent, has the charisma of a Hollywood star, and knows the game.

With that said, I think DiDi probably has somewhere near zero interest in becoming a recruiter/coach for Baylor. As has been noted numerous times on this board since last weekend, many of our greatest players have been loyal to CKM first, Baylor second (if that.) I think that is DiDi.

If we are looking for a former star player to fill that roll, then either Nina Davis or Melissa Jones would be ones to look at.

The Drew family does have some ties at GCU so no doubt Scott knows a lot about her. I wouldn't be surprised if he & MR have talked about her one way or another.

I doubt seriously Mack is consulting with any HC about this especially one he did not bring here. . I doubt he sees them qualified to make these types of calls.

By all means think Mack is consulting with our HCs about this hire then. II just said I doubt it.

Hmmm.....just wondering, if she were a poster on this board who would she be?

Haha, you may be on to something. Maybe all of these new posters flocking to this board are Molly Millers many accounts and THAT is where all of this interest is coming from.

Exactly. Tech hired Mark Adams to replace Beard because that's who the players wanted and they expected everyone to stay. Then all of their top guys entered the transfer portal. Every single one.

Now they're on the hook for 2+ mil a year for a guy who had a losing record 20 years ago as HC at Texas-Pan American (although to be fair, nearly everyone does), who then subsequently left coaching completely for 5 years to open up a restaurant in Lubbock.

So people are saying looks like most of the players are staying including NaLyssa. Curious, does this mean only if the coach is Sytia or regardless of the coach?

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Regardless. From another poster...Lyss said she can't wait to watch the new coach lift the trophy over her head. That's the word anyway. I think they are hearing all the talk...BU dominance is over...gonna be a few years...yadda, yadda. It's like this team of Lady Bears don't factor anymore. They plan on blowing up those headlines...IMO. I can't wait.

Moon is a loss. But look at the guards we could potentially have.... Carr/McDaniel/Owens/Andrews/Lewis that's ton of firepower

Under normal circumstances (no Covid) she would be a loss anyway. I'm not sure anyone figured she would be around anyway....and I doubt if it was anything other than Mulkey being much closer to her (Moon's) home, she still may not have returned.

I recall the Men's BB team lost some players to Okie State & Mississippi State when Drew took over. They will be remembered as quitters because they valued self more than team and as a result were not foundational to our national title.

I get following the coaches and the team but BU's president seems odd unless something is going on.

Could it simply mean she is wanting to be relevant and informed?

They left before Scott Drew was hired. At the time I thought of Kenny Taylor (Texas) & John Lucas III (Okie State) as traitors because they not only bailed but stayed in conference. However, Lawrence Roberts was different, he was waiting to see who the new coach would be, but it took awhile to hire Scott. Roberts waited until the last minute, but had to make a decision (because the school year was starting) and he ultimately decided to transfer to Mississippi State.
