Good subject Fredbear.

I think her tone and style are appealing to players and to fans.
I sense she will demand excellence through tough love and not fear of making mistakes.
Definitely an outstanding communicator.

She and CSD seem to have a great relationship

I like the response of Adriacus and agree with it. Collen seems to have an authenticity that I find to be appealing.
I think that she will be very effective as a recruiter.

6 and 7 are excellent points!

If you listen to her talk, you have to like her.

Very effective conversational speaker. Gets her points across without a formal style.

Obviously very comfortable with zoom, etc. which has its own challenges.

Humble yet confident.

Has a personality that will wear well over time.

I think he meant specifically the question about what things people DO like about a new male coach. Not how many negative threads are started about them.

Is the implication, though, that asking what we like about a new female coach is somehow sexist? I am having a hard time seeing anything sexist about it. It seems like a fairly normal topic of conversation for a Baylor sports forum.

I do have trouble communicating in written form on occasion as several posters have pointed out....I rely too much on Associate's and paralegals to proof my grammar and spelling...couple that with using iphones and ipads it is trouble...

you all always get my rough drafts or dictation...

you know I am not a real woke guy but it just seemed a bit soft to ask about what we do like about a female coach who has only been here a month? wondered if we asked same sort of question/thread a month into Rhule and Arranda?

I know all coaches new or old are subject to differences of opinions and criticisms and concerns...on a fan board... but when you specifically ask the thread to stay positive, well just had to ask if it was just because she is an attractive, well spoken, female coach?

I am CNC fan...I am hoping and praying for the best!

I'm giving the question a more charitable reading, and would say that it was not about her being female, etc., but arose more from the circumstances of her hire.

In contrast with Rhule and Aranda, neither of them were hired to follow a legendary coach that left under circumstances that sparked some controversy and heated emotions for many fans. Even with Rhule, he had a one-year cushion named Grobe that made it so it was not a natural expectation to immediately bemoan that he was not Briles. So in a certain sense, both of those football coaches had a bit more of a clean slate from a fan perspective than Collen does. (I do wonder as I write this, if there were similar "What do you like about Coach Grobe?" threads when he was first hired. But that was also such a different situation in that no one expected him to be here long term).

I will say that I personally think the thread is born out of a misconception that a lot of people are against Coach Collen. At least so far, the responses support my belief that any actual opposition to her is a fringe minority if it exists at all.

I will concur as well...I think Fred's heart was and is in the right place...CNC is in a unique spot...because of the feelings toward Kim good or bad and the expectations in place some would think we don't fully embrace CNC...and I do! I got blitzed by some who I think seem to be trying to build up her hire and qualifications so much that it is increasing expectations and I think she should get five years at a minimum to prove what kind of program she will have...

Fred is all for women. And I had no intentions of the question having any thing to do with the coaches gender, looks, religion etc. it was a professional question. I asked at the beginning for no one to derail this thread with silly negative comments. But being mature is a stretch for some.
