Much easier to be positive on this thread than per say the football board.

Team is even better than last year in my early season prediction. There might be injuries but they could top last season's win total.
Last year's team had a 37-37 stretch and still won 101 games. Barring multiple major injuries, it's tough to imagine this team going 37-37 during any 74 game stretch. Of course, baseball has a way of humbling everyone.

our starting rotation has a 1, 1a, 1b, 1c, and Ground Chuck (the only man to ever win 2 game 7's in the same playoff run)

we have McHugh (3 seasons since he had one fewer quality starts than his Cy Young winning teammate) and Peacock in our Bull Pen.

we are one Tervor Hoffman or Mariano Rivera from maybe being the best staff ever.

The way this team rakes, and runs bases and plays defense....

we are almost slump proof.
Can you imagine this team if they go get a closer? They've tried before with Baltimore and San Diego. We'll see.

Might not even have to "go get" one. Could just move some guys around, thats how stacked the pen is.

Side note, if Peacock touches the mound in a game, we have a 91% chance of victory. That guy has been money $$$.

Crazy ending to tonight's game! I absolutely HATED Hosmer during the 2015 ALDS, so tonight's ending was fun. Hopefully they can have an easier win tomorrow to win the series. Go 'Stros!!!!!

I feel bad but I don't. Crazy ending though. Bregmans face was classic.

So, Jeff Lunhow has turned Jed Lowrie and Fernando Rodriguez into Carter, Peacock, Stassi and Brendan McCurry....that deserves a yo.

Rivalry series starts tonight. I'll be there Saturday.

Should we be worried about the angels or is it too early? They sure do have some star power.

I think I will just enjoy watching and listening to the Astros like I did last year.

They got bat power, they don't got arm power. Not sweating

Good bounce back win against the West Shreveport Rangers. Go 'Stros!!!!

The rangers might lose 90+ games this year at this rate. How the tables have turned.

We need to win this one. Take their souls.

What a waste of a good start by Morton. Win the series tomorrow in front of a National audience. Go 'Stros!!!!

A big waste against Grand Prairie. These bats need to wake up again. Go 'Stros.

Thats just how baseball go. Not every team stays hot all year, slumps come and go, people get injured.

I usually dont sweat the little things, but Marisnick had every right to be mad AF last night. Twas a ball.

Plate umpire missed several pitches (on both sides).

Left and right, top and bottom.

So, four sides.

What happened to our bats? We are wasting these steller pitching performances to junk hitting and swinging at every single pitch. Go 'Stros.

Still very early. I'd take a slump now much better than I would take it in August or September.

True, but frustrating to know that just two more hits in key places would have meant two more wins.

The pitching has been incredible. Best ERA, fewest runs/game allowed, and most strikeouts in baseball. The top 3 AL strikeout leaders are Cole/Verlander/McCullers.

Also of note, Tuve hit in his 1000th game.
Winning by cheating is just as impressive as winning fairly, probably even more so. Your opponent was better than you in every way, and you beat them with your brain.

4 runs in one game!!!!!!!!!

After he shat the bed in Minnesota, Lance said he was gonna come out next start dealing death, I sort of brushed it off. Next time I won't.

Cole, who had an E1, also had 0 ER over 7.

Soo glad we got this dude.

Glad to see the bats wake up too.

Nice sweep, en route back to the top.

Bullpen has been dealing death. Perhaps the best starting lineup in the history of the game.

Offense was stagnant again tonight against the Angels. Cole pitched enough of a gem to win it but did not have the bats behind him. On to tomorrow. Go 'Stros!!!!

Too many guys left the bat on their shoulders.

I took 100 High School Freshmen to game 3 of the Angles series and survived the experience... had a great view right into the Astros dugout for the ignoring of Altuve.... funny stuff....

Tonight it's just me and Natalie for the opener v the A's.... Keuchal vs. Manaea
