I'm told it isn't important, piddly games and all that, but the Astros are down 4 runs to the worst team in the AL again. Astros playing like a minor league team, even after return of Springer.

Over the course of 162 games, it is not ususual for the worst team in the league to beat the best team in the league. You might want to have be doctor check your meds.
Since you are all-knowing, why haven't the Dodgers suffered such a stretch? Or the Nationals, Red Sox, or Indians?D. C. Bear said:Oldbear83 said:

It is unusual for a team to go from winning streaks to losing multiple series to last-place teams.

What the Dodgers are doing is highly unusual. If they continue to win at this pace, they will have one of the top ten best baseball seasons in MLB history. You are asking why the Dodgers have not had a stretch with some losses? They are an outlier.
The 2016 Cubs had a 5-15 stretch, which included a 1-9 stretch.Oldbear83 said:Since you are all-knowing, why haven't the Dodgers suffered such a stretch? Or the Nationals, Red Sox, or Indians?D. C. Bear said:Oldbear83 said:

Since June 5th, the Astros are 29-27. When your Ace and key players almost all go down at the same time, it's not surprising.Oldbear83 said:
Astros lose again, ninth loss in the last 12 games.

Astros lose their 5th straight game 8 to 3. Poor pitching, poor base running, really bad coaching.
Astros are now 3 and 11 in their last 14 games.
Anyone still think they are in great shape?
One game, and the bats were nearly absent.GoldMind said:

Nice to win, but we are still only 4-11 for our last 15 games. Real good to see Keuchel pitch well, but McHugh and the rest need to get back to speed.

Why don't you try being a fan for a while instead of a wannabe GM?
Great pick up. Now this is the type of trade I have been looking for. Get a useful piece that has been pitching well (1.50 ERA in 13 2nd half games), while not giving up more than a low level minor leaguer or cash. Houston gave up way more to get Francisco Liriano, who was not pitching well when the Astros acquired him and has continued to not pitch well.Bear8084 said:
Aaaand we just got relief pitcher Tyler Clippard from the White Sox for a player to be names later or a cash consideration. Interesting. Go 'Stros!!!!
I wonder if Lunhow "heard" the locker room on this move? I know GMs usually dont care, just a thought.ValpoCory said:Great pick up. Now this is the type of trade I have been looking for. When Dallas Keuchel says 'get another arm', a smart GM gets another arm for the team.GoldMind said:I wonder if Lunhow "heard" the locker room on this move? Astros pitching great again, Astros bats dead again, Astros lose 0-2 to the D-backs, have now lost 75% of their last sixteen games.
Anyone know why the batting coach still gets a paycheck?
