This is exactly why there will never be a Power 3 or Power 4. The B1G and SEC are so far ahead of everyone else monetarily that they will just eventually suck all the talented coaches and players out of the ACC and Big 12 or then fight among themselves like this situation. Enjoyable hearty laugh in this situation with the Horns putting Little Bro back in his place.

I don't know why anyone would go from Aggie to UT, it's a lateral move salary wise and you are giving up job security. Schloss better make Omaha every year or he's out

He's going from $1.3 mill to $3 mill. that's almost TRIPLE.

I'm basing that on track record of what he has done at places with significantly less than UT. I know A&M isn't exactly on as tight a budget as TCU for example, but still…Additionally only 3 years in A&M was probably headed toward having dynastic type of run.

Don't you think the Gomers would pony up if he came to them and said "I have an offer I can't financially pass up..."?

But I generally agree. It's not really lateral. UT is still UT. But A&M has plenty of booster $$.

Just like we did the same on Mulkey.

Yeah, maybe. It's just not that much money in the grand scheme.

Our admin more or less wanted Mulkey to leave, IMO.

Makes you wonder if Schlossnagle had done something internally to wear out his welcome.

I just don't understand why he said what he said about going to CS to never take another job again. Just seems like he could have answered the question another way.

"He asked a question that was an obvious question," Schlossnagle said. "I wish I could have answered that better. But in the moment, all 30 minutes after the last pitch, all I could think about was our players. And I really wasn't in the mood to talk about myself for the future."

He sure got over thinking about those players pretty quickly.

Coaches and politicians.
