With the CWS coming up, I was looking back at our previous 3 trips. 2005 I remember but the earlier BU "Omaha bound" teams I did not. Question for those who saw the 1977 team. I saw that we won the Arlington regional in 1977 (a 4 team regional that led directly to Omaha at the time) by beating Miami of Ohio. Where was that 1977 Arlington regional played? I didn't think UTA had a big enough stadium for a regional. Was it played at the old Arlington Stadium? I know the Rangers had moved to Texas about 5 years earlier and it was their original stadium.

I was there, and it was hot. It was played at the home of the Texas Rangers, Arlington Stadium. It was Turnpike Stadium before Texas moved there from Washington, and was enlarged with their move.

I was there as well. In those days 32 teams went to the playoffs, so there was only one round of eight four team double elimination tourneys with the eight winners advancing to Omaha.
