Women's steeplechase champ is smoke.

It would be tough choosing between her and the high jump silver medalist.

Yes and yes. They say white men can't jump, but I guess white women can since the three high jump medalists are white.

The USA women won the 4x1, but the men took silver when Christian Coleman didn't run the best anchor and Great Brittain won their first world title in this event. Bolt pulled up lame.

I just finished watching the morning session. Wil did well and looked to me to split sub-45 even coming out of the blocks. Glad to take the world leading time for 2017 from that college down the road.
I believe they showed a 44.9 for Wil. Very proud of our young Baylor Bear!!

Gatlin should have been the anchor, imho! Very disappointing, but happy for the Brits!

Well, he was on the second leg where most teams put their fastest guy because they can stretch that leg to more than 100 meters. I wonder if Coleman could see GB ahead of him to the outside.

Ludvy VAILLANT (FRA) had the fastest leadoff leg in the heat at 44.89, followed by Wil's 44.92. Here's what Will had to say after the race:

Wil London III: "It always feels like an open 400 but with a baton in your hand. Being in lane 9, I couldn't see anybody, my mind was just saying, 'go! Get off the baton and hand it off in first. (On atmosphere) This crowd was amazing. I've never run in an atmosphere like this before. They're so engaged in the meet and it's fun to be around."

What an exciting final two hours today with the women's 5k and loaded 800 field plus the men's 1500. Barshim was the class of the high jump and Sandra Perchovic in the discus. The USA women destroyed the 4x4 field and now it is Wil's turn.

Wil ran a fine lead off leg and handed off in first place. Gil Roberts from TT ran a good second leg and handed off to Michael Cherry with a good cushion. Cherry built the lead, but faded down the stretch and handed off to aggy Fred Kerley with a lead of 1-2 meters. Kerley got passed on the homestretch and we got silver.

Wil ran a great first leg, giving the USA a big lead with his 44.08. Fred Kerley from Texas A&M was unable to hold off Lalonde GORDON of Trinidad & Tobago and the Americans get the silver.

USA Splits:

LONDON (44.08)
ROBERTS (44.90)
CHERRY (44.87)
KERLEY (44.76)

2:58.61

Tepid second and third legs allowed the other teams to get back into the race. Wil did his job and Hurley tied up at the end.

I'm so proud of Wil running our fastest split by far and he came out of the blocks while the others had running starts. He's only 19 and is at the end of a very long season that began in January.

Disappointed in the finish, but Wil was awesome!

Couldn't be more proud of Wil. What a great leadoff leg and fantastic split. Aggsy blew it and cost us. imho.
For all track enthusiasts I am proud to say that Wil sets his blocks in the exact same position as I did. And I also ran leadoff for the Sylmar Spartans.
