According to softball America Baylor is ranked 24th.
First RPI ranking came out this morning and we are #19. Massey ratings have us at #28 and as Scotty pointed out, #24 in one of the polls. A lot of tough games ahead of us (Texas, Texas A&M, Arizona, Texas Tech, OSU) but we are clearly well positioned for a NCAA regional appearance this year as a #2 or #3 seed.

. . . for those that haven't been paying attention, Baylor pitcher, Cambree Creager was named player of the week for the entire NCAA division 1 last week. She pitched 11 innings over three straight victories, with 17 strikeouts. After losing the first game at UCF, she called a players only meeting and the Bears won the next two in Orlando. They are 5-1 in conference and look like they may be ready to compete.

Doing pretty good so far, but the schedule is about to get much tougher. A home & home with #2 UT followed by a series on the road at #11 Arizona. Any win they get out of those 5 games will be well earned and a huge bonus.

I've never been to a game in Austin where the umps or referees didn't take an active part in trying to hose us. Should have been 2-2 in the fourth but the umps overturned a legal play to give Texas a 2-1 lead.

He brought in 2 good pitchers, but they're not elite. Only a handful of those to go around. You're setting yourself up for disappointment if (after seeing Baylor play so far this season) you expected them to beat the #2 team in the country who's on a program best winning streak. Yep, with all the success UT softball has had over the years (how many nattys?, how many CWS appearances?) they are right now playing better than they ever have. And CGM is garbage because he can't put a team together to match that. That's foolish.

Moore isn't garbage in fact up until about 5 years ago he was one of the better coaches in the country considering the usual talent gaps. But the game has thoroughly passed him by. If he's not going to adjust it's best he rides off into the sunset. He's a HOF coach
