Kept Warncke in after the long rain delay; she had pitched well up until that point but just didn't have it in the 7th.

Whew! That was a nice comeback. I am not sure if we still have a realistic tournament chance. But we certainly needed this one. Nice to get a series win..::

Utah graciously gave the Bears 4 outs to work with in the 7th to allow the W to happen.

good to see them win the series they are supposed to. But holy luck.

I wouldn't discount Utah. Utah beat Texas tech once this year. Utah defense is not the best in terms of errors yet the pitching they are good at that area and have good batters. The starter for Utah today and Friday is the same one who beat Texas tech. As for the insanity ending yeah it was a miracle, but it is on Utah on not completing the strikeout on Carter because the catcher couldn't catch the ball and threw it to first yet Carter got on first. Then obviously the mishandling of the ball on Jones' hit which went into outfield yet the throw to home ended up as backstop. Of course the runner at second scored, but Carter took a chance to go home to win it because worst case it goes to extras.

Now next game is against Texas state on the road I wouldn't sleep on at all. First reason is that Texas state had a better rpi than Baylor prior to today's games. Second reason is that Texas State beat Texas Tech in a midweek game. I'll check the RPI after they include today's games.

Where are Creager and Wardell....injuries ??

Wardell didn't play today due to injury. No clue on Creager.

Creager started on Wed vs Aggy. Gave up 5 runs on 3 hits and didn't record an out before getting pulled in the 1st. Maybe the decision was made to not pitch her in the Utah series? Don't know? It will be interesting to see who starts at Texas St this week.

On the road at Texas State tonight......they're good, currently #30 RPI, BU is #44. So far this year Texas St has beaten #5 Tech, #10 Aggy, and #23 Clemson, while losing 3-2 to #4 Texas.


Expecting a loss, maybe I'll be surprised.

Sorry for long explanation in advance.

Typically teams with RPI 30-40 should get in ncaa tournament. For sure inside top 30 RPI gets in ncaa tournament. Now outside the top 40 could get in with that RPI but I'm not entirely positive. Currently the strength of schedule according to Massey is 26, and I would think it would get better due to Oklahoma state and Texas tech given where they are at RPI wise. Oklahoma State is 16 while Texas tech is 15. It's not including big 12 tournament which is only for the top 8 and single elimination games. Right now we would be in for big 12 tournament because Baylor is 6th.

I would think one more win or two guarantees ncaa tournament bid especially having 4 or 5 ranked wins this year in my opinion. Now if baylor loses the next 6 games and still gets in big 12 tournament it would be more important to win the first game in big 12 tournament game though losing the first big 12 tournament would hurt and make us sweat like crazy for hoping for a bid while praying for no bid stealers.
