Playing in Scotland this week (Scottish Open)....Johnny is in the field. Tune up for the Open Championship.

Keef shoots -2 in the first rd...good enough for 27th. Nice start.

JK shot another -2(68) in round 2; at -4 total he's T25th, very good showing so far.

JK has it going on...-4 so far today and -8 for the tourney puts him currently T5. He's on hole 13.

He's a man on fire...now -6 on the day and -10 for the tourney. Tied 1st. LFG.

Unfortunately the broadcast isn't really showing him at all. That will probably change tomorrow.

They are finally showing him on the 16th hole

(3rd round JK shoots -6 (64) to get to -10 total)

Fog rolled in late in the day so the finish of round 3 got suspended until tomorrow; about 20 players still have to complete their 3rd round (a couple groups only made it to holes 7 or 8). Also, two guys got it to -11 so JK is now T3rd with his -10.

They finished up round 3; Johnny is now officially T7th to start the final round; 2 leaders at -12, then 4 guys at -11. Here's hoping he can finish strong and post a career best result.

He's not going to be able to catch the leaders...but he's done outstanding in an event with a very talented field. Hope he can keep it going next week.

JK shot -3(67) today to finish at -13 which got T3rd
He had a great week and banked a lot of cash, high 6 figures probably

For my own personal watching enjoyment I think I would rank the majors:

1 Masters. The course is just breathtaking to see on TV and I know what every hole looks like. It probably also helps it to be #1 for me because it's the first major of the year.

2a US Open. Love seeing the best players against the most insane and challenging courses and course set ups. Cool that it's ends of Father's Day.

2b The Open. I really put the U.S. Open and the Open on just about equal footing. I love seeing the old courses and all the tradition...and how the elements can really come into play. It's also a fun sports event to look forward to in the middle of summer when things are kind of dragging before training camp starts.

4 PGA Championship. It's also been the clear 4th best major. I doubt that will ever change.

I respect your opinion but I totally disagree with you about the Masters. The word I'd use to describe Augusta is manufactured, its all just fake & phony to me. Also, the Masters itself is just very pretentious, you can tell how highly they think of themselves and their tournament (which has by far the least amount of history & tradition of the 4 majors). Most things about the Masters & Augusta are the exact opposite of how i believe a Championship should be & what the course should be like. Huge cringe vibes all around.

The bookend numbers on the board are: Jackson Suber -5(65) at the top while 54 year old & 2 time Open Champion Paddy Harrington +10(80) is at the bottom.

I did not take it that way at all. Me and my regular golf foursome have this debate all the time. One of them feels the same way you do.

Good start to day 2 for Johnny; birdies on holes 2 & 3 put Johnny at -2 for the week, but a bogey at 7 moved him back to -1. Cuurently playing hole 9.

Finished with a -2(68) today.....good round. Currently T24th at -2 total.

For round 3 Keefer is paired with Patrick Reed...........IYKYK : (
On a positive note: One year, as a teenager, Reed won the huge junior tournament that used to be held in Waco (the Starburst Classic); so that's something.

Johnny shot 1 over 71 today, drops back to -1 total and T38th on the board. He will be paired with Canadian Corey Connors in the final round.

I have flip-flopped. I love how these British Open courses are such a change of pace. I'm going to flip it ahead of the U.S. Open for my favorites. Subject to change… Ha ha

I love the Open for many reasons but one is because the (true) links courses they play are the one main thing still around from the early formative days of the sport. Links courses were the original type of golf course, when bunkers were basically burrows for sheep. The Open is so good to me because its authentic, true golf played on true golf courses. By comparison, Augusta & the Masters looks like a mini golf tourney on ESPN8...the Ocho.
