Baylor Women’s Golf Returns to Action at Darius Rucker Intercollegiate
WACO, Texas – Baylor women’s golf is headed to South Carolina to compete in the 2020 Darius Rucker Intercollegiate. The three-day, 54-hole tournament will be played on the par-71, 6,290-yard course at Long Cove Club.
No. 20-ranked Baylor is part of a 17-team field with every team top-40 ranked. BU will take on No. 1 Texas, No. 4 South Carolina, No. 6 Duke, No. 7 Wake Forest, No. 12 LSU, No. 13 Alabama, No. 14 UCLA, No. 18 Arkansas, No. 19 Auburn, No. 21 Florida State, No. 22 Vanderbilt, No. 28 Georgia, No. 33 Furman, No. 34 Virginia, No. 36 North Carolina and No. 40 Northwestern.
Baylor’s lineup is led by Elodie Chapelet in the No. 1 spot. She’s followed by Diane Baillieux, Hannah Karg, Gurleen Kaur and Erica Chiang.
The Bears are paired with players from Wake Forest and Texas for Friday’s first round, which is scheduled for tee times from the first and 10th holes. Chiang is up first for BU teeing off from No. 10 at 7:30 a.m. CT, and she’ll be followed in 10-minute intervals by Kaur, Karg, Baillieux and Chapelet, respectively.
Saturday’s second round is slated for tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m., while Sunday’s final round starts with tee times at 7 a.m.
The Darius Rucker Intercollegiate is in its ninth year, and Baylor is appearing for a fourth consecutive season after playing the event for the first time in 2017. BU took seventh place in 2017, 13th place in 2018 and 15th place in 2019. Kaur finished eighth individually in last year’s event, recording the best individual finish by a Baylor player in tournament history.
