Do any of our acro & tumbling team get NIL $? If so, how did they go about getting it?

if they are then it is likely though some type of product endorsement with a company. ive seen a few soccer players advertising items from small business

no clue

They can make connections on their own and have them approved by the compliance department or they can be connected to sponsors looking to make NIL deals by the athletic department.

I'm not sure if these teams are considered club sports or NCAA sports. If they are club sports they are not & have never been restricted. They can go get paid to do whatever they want to do. If they are governed by NCAA rules like the "varsity" sports, then they have to clear it with compliance first.

a&t has scholarships and is an emerging ncaa sport. Falls under same rules but currently has its own governing org for competition

I would think that then they have the same rules/restrictions as well as hopefully the same support from the athletic department.

My daughter is a scholarship a&t athlete at a school in south carolina - she has to go thru compliance if she gets anything. I just didnt know how they went about making the connections.

She would LOVE to come to Baylor a&t but would need lots of scholarship help. Was a level 10 gymnast for 5 years so I think she could make it... who knows.

She did a year or two ago. I believe she even brought up that her Uncle is in the Baylor HoF (not sure how much she worked that angle). Maybe after a year of being the star at her current school she can go through the transfer portal?? That's what I told her anyway - work your butt off and max out those grades. We'll see. Dream come true for me

In the meantime, she may be getting some NIL $$ out there, which is why I was asking how it all works.

Ok I need some help please. Back on the topic of my daughter transferring to Baylor. She medical redshirted last year due to a bad ankle sprain. So she has 4 years and will use one this year for a&t. So 3 left when she transfers. She is not allowed to contact the a&t coach.

She currently has a 3.87 gpa and will make all A's this semester.

She has Baylor (always has) as her #1 because of our family history.

I need to start getting serious about checking into costs to see if this is an option. I dont want to break any rules.

Please help - very nervous to reach out to the coach.
