Deep State Sam chatting again with the voices in his head, I observe ...
he's desperate to spin indictments of Proud Boys leaders as proof of a MAGA inspired insurrection.
His ultimate wish is to prevent Trump from being able to run so we can continue electing establishment a holes who fleece us and cause economic hardship.

No more populism, only those with money and DC approved clout can participate in our democracy.
Nah.
You trust the system, how are you not opposed to people who want to radically change it?

I don't know how you can rationally trust our system or not want radical change with the massive amount of failures we've encountered as a nation for decades.
I supported Trump because he seemed to want a return to traditional conservatism, as opposed to the neocon version of the last few decades. Some may consider that radical, but I don't really. I'm against the extreme right, anti-democratic agenda that Trump and his followers increasingly seem to support. There's no need to accept that kind of thing just because you want reform.

Trump didn't cause J6. Period.
Trump incited J6. Period.
You have no evidence of Trump persuading, encouraging, instigating, pressuring, or threatening as to purposely cause another to commit a crime.

You're equating him not trusting the election with the above. That's not incitement under any definition.

Trump invited rioters to Capitol on Jan 6 ("Big things will happen"). They showed up.
He expressed his disappointment in Pence and later the rioters were chanting "Hang Mike Pence"
He said he would march with the rioters to the Capitol. The rioters marched on the Capitol.

There are many videos of each of the above. If you won't accept video I don't know what to do for evidence.

They haven't even pulled out the big guns yet on Trump. This farce of a hearing tomorrow night in prime time is child's play of what will come if the GOP is dumb enough to put him on the ticket.

Trump is the crazy ex-girlfriend some of you can't quit. There's a better girl out there with the same sexiness with less craziness. As Iceman typed to Maverick, it's time to let go.
You are letting emotions occlude your thinking and thus ending up getting it exactly backwards. Right now, no serious data-based assessment shows anyone even close to assembling the coalition Trump already has in hand. Add into that the macro-factors of the cycle and 2024 is setting up to be a landslide. Nominating anyone else puts it all at risk. THAT's why you see the party lining up behind him.

I think there is consensus that DeSantis is the most viable alternative. But here's what neverTrumps steadfastly refuse to recognize: there's 20m Trump voters, people who hadn't voted in 5 elections but came out to vote for him twice, that might not show up for ANYONE else.

It is impossible to craft a coalition to overcome loss of that voting bloc.

It's not the Reagan-Bush GOP anymore. It's a multi-racial, blue collar, middle class party. It is a broader voting base than what the Democrats have to work with. And it's growing.
You're letting a lack of awareness get in the way of sound decision making. The "20m Trump voters" is a classic spurious claim by Trumpers. In fact the anti-Trump vote is a much higher factor and negatively impacted down ballot races throughout the country in 2020. It will do the same in 2024. I've seen the internal polling, and it is not good for Trump. His promotion to the candidacy is driven by pure emotionalism, and a fear of his actions should he not get the nomination. He's already proven he's willing to go scorched Earth, and he drove away dozens of solid candidates from the races, including a friend of mine who was as classic of a conservative, non-elite, non-political careerist, as you could find. Trump is nothing but emotions and a brand name. He will hand the Presidency back to the Democrats if he's the nominee. The only thing holding Desantis back from running will be the participation of Trump. Period.

You are in error. The 20m number is well documented, as are the demographics, well outside of Trump world, including the link I provided, Selena Zito, etc….

There is a reason DeSantis will not run against Trump, and it undermines your reasoning - Trump has the larger coalition and there is no plausible scenario where any other candidate could build a bigger one.

That's it for me. No emotion at all. Who's got the best chance to win. The answer is patently obvious.

Delusional and unsupported. The 20m isn't well documented. I agree that Trump had some atypical demographic sway, ironically primarily in the black community, but he also had a negative rally factor that far outweighed any impact. There's another coalition of those who won't support him that are in his base along with a highly motivated opposition party that will turn out to vote against Trump when they'd likely stay home in the presence of a poor candidate like Biden.

Here's the oddity of these arguments. Mitt Romney, a very mediocre candidate, won Georgia against Barack Obama by 300,000 votes. Trump bested Hillary in the state in 2016 by over 200,000 votes. You can make whatever "stolen election" argument you want to make for 2020, but it shouldn't have even been close enough to be in question!. This is the blind spot that has only been intensified since his actions post election. The coalition against him is much greater than the one for him, so much so that given the slam dunk issues that should help the GOP will be minimized by the Trump folly. That's as straight as it gets.

Jan. 2: Mr. Trump asks Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to "find 11,780 votes."

Jan. 4: In a rally in Georgia a day before the state's Senate runoff, Mr. Trump tells supporters: "When you win in a landslide and they steal it and it's rigged, it's not acceptable."

Trump incited the J6 riot. Period.

Except for the part that 99.something% of the crowd were not "rioters" but a high percentage of grandmothers and grandfathers who came to engage in first amendment rights of speech and assembly and did not participate in anything illegal.

Except for the part where "expressing disappointment" is a universe away from inciting anyone to "hang Mike Pence."

Except for the part where he specifically incited the crowd to "make their voices heard peacefully and patriotically," which is also on video.

Except for the part that we have four specific witnesses who have corroborated that he authorized up to 20k Nat Guard troops to guard the Electoral Vote process, and we have documentary evidence and/or testimony that Democrat leadership in House, Senate, and WDC steadfastly refused multiple offers from Trump admin for more security. What kind of insurrection is it where its alleged leader begs the targets of the insurrection to accept 20k troops to protect the process he allegedly attempted to insurrect?

What kind of patriot ignores indictments of PB and OK activists seeing to usurp peaceful process with violence, without the faintest whisp of connection between those groups and the person that patriot insists is in fact the leader of it all, yet bores on ahead to try to conflate the two?

You reasoning here would be amusing post hoc ergo propter hoc were it not also part of a highly harmful disinformation campaign which does great damage to the nation. One could very reasonably express disappointment in such actions but they'd only get accused of trying to incite others to do you harm.

Come on, Oso, this is Schiff-level dishonesty, you're better than that, right?
Trump is your guy. We get it.

I published facts and you can't deal with it.

And nobody has refuted any of the facts in my timeline
1. Truth is important to me, more than politicians.

2. No, you put a story together and got mad when we didn't buy your claims at face

3. The opposite is true, no one has claimed your 'timeline' is accurate while several have challenged you

Wipe your butt, change into dry pants and suck it up, buttercup, you're buying into the Pelosi/Cheney/Schiff/Biden Big Pack O' Lies and it only makes you look bad.

I have found theres only two ways to go:
Living fast or dying slow.
I dont want to live forever.
But I will live while I'm here.

If you are a delusional Trump hater who needs this to be true so Democrats can win in November.

Otherwise, it's bilge.
