We balanced budgets until Boomers ran the show.
Boomers didn't fight WWII, went to Canada to avoid Viet Nam, and then claimed to be victims. It was a felony until boomers became a significant % of the vote and Carter commuted it.
Boomers have made SS & Medicare a sacrifice free perk for themselves and are loading the debt of the kids and grandkids.
Boomers led the charge that created the Great Recession & then demanded to be bailed out financially because they were too big to fail.
Out of wedlock sex used to be risky. Boomers demanded abortion for unwanted pregnancies and penicillin for unwanted STDs.
Boomers have let our infrastructure deteriorate to a state where it will take trillions of dollars to fix it. Guess who pays? Not Boomer.
College was affordable for Boomer because the Greatest Generation paid for it. Now that Boomer has his degree tuitions sky rocket and Boomer want kids to go into debt for the teaching degree.
I don't think you give Boomers enough credit.
Many went to schools you would never think of attending.
Many worked jobs most younger generation would say are beneath them.
Many got degrees in areas that paid based on economics, not because it was there internal calling.
7% of those drafted evaded. Less than 0.01% of the 27 million. Less than 1% went to Canada. 2.7 million served.
The opportunities that the WW2 generation and Boomers left today's generations are immense compared to what existed before. They get a bad wrap.
You can make numbers say whatever you want. Accurate statistics does not tell the whole story. That book is BS. No different than those trying to get reparations out of future generations.
