Trump did some great things for our country. I am just tired of all the the drama. Give me Ron DeSantis or Tim Scott.

Joe Biden is too old. Donald Trump is too old.

It was a unfair if not outright stolen or fraudulent election. Trump was a great President. The establishment wine and cheese country club Republicans don't like Trump.

I walked away from the Republican party during W's. time. Establishment Republican are no better than democrats and liberals.

The fact that these "conservative" on the GOP side voted to repeal Obamacare 60 something times when Obama was in office and then couldn't get it done when there was a guy in the White House that would sign it, should tell us all everything we need to know.

I'm sure the establishment and Nancy Pelosi are yukkin' it up on every pay day, smoking cigars, playing cards and laughing at all of us.

To be fair, there are a few exceptions (i.e. Republicans that are actually serious about at least trying to do the things they campaign on) but the unfortunate key word in the foregoing is "exceptions". The Trump Presidency big time exposed the establishment GOP RINOS for who they really are if there was ever any doubt. Still, what other viable choice is there if you're a patriot that believes in traditional American values?

Yep. We've been in a culture war for 60+ years and the Republicans have only been fighting it for about 3 of those. Trump showed the base that they can fight the evil of leftist democrats and win. He also exposed the weakness of the RINOs. We owe Trump tremendous respect for his work to save our country from the left.

Now, he needs to bow out gracefully. Bring on DeSantis.

What makes you think it will be any different? Look at what they said about Dole, McCain, Romney, next up. Trump had the balls to fight back. DeSantis will be the same.

The problem isn't Trump, it is you (and me). The fact that you are here, the fact that you refuse to fall in line, the fact that you vote and participate in society - anyone that represents you will be the next great racist.

Agreed. Trump was a Republican in 2014. He governed and looked much more like a traditional Democrat. His sin was being anti-establishment and calling out the swamp.

DeSantis is more conservative than Trump but also has more refinement as an insider.

His sin was being insanely abrasive, possessing the knack to piss off literally everyone (usually all at once) and not having a single ounce of human decency on display. I have never seen a human say stuff out loud that they meant (should have) to keep to themselves so frequently.

"Figure X died today"

Appropriate response: "The White House is saddened by the passing of Figure X, blah blah blah"
Trump response: "Figure X was a sad man, a little man, frankly, I never liked the guy"

He did stuff like that *allllll* the time.

He is not President today because he didnt learn in 4 years to just shut the hell up...not because of some nebulous establishment or "the swamp". He can look in the mirror and see the reason, it's looking right back at him.

The Republican party desperately needs him to ride into the sunset as swiftly and quietly as possible.

So far we have "mean tweets" and "the way democrats behaved during his administration" as the only reasons Trump shouldn't be President. That just doesn't sell it for me. The majority of people offended by Trump comments were either ignoring context or were getting their Trump news from those who either ignore context or flat out lies. I'll take abrasive and right every day over someone good at speaking politically but is totally corrupt like Biden and his puppeteers.

His sin? That was what I liked best about Trump. Those debates in 2016 were some of the best entertainment I've ever had and him pissing off all the EU globalists like Merkel/Macron was epic. IF we could get that 2016 populist Trump back I would vote for him in a minute. In 2020 he was a watered down republlican version of himself.

I voted for Trump twice. Donald Trump will be 77 years old when the next election rolls around. Like Biden, he is too old. We need some younger people to run the country.

It's entertaining when your kid pees off the back porch or chases a deer and falls in a puddle...it's not a qualification to run the free world.

I say that as someone who voted for him twice because, in spite of the fact that I think he is a gigantic ass who can barely tie his own shoes, he was the lesser of the two evils.

I'm right there. I voted for him because the alternatives were horrible. I think David French and Jonah Goldberg have lost their marbles. I'll even go so far as to say that some of his blockheadedness was needed to get the judiciary back on the right track. His administration handled the pandemic very well and, had he been re-elected, I suspect very much that we would've stopped a lot of the nonsense and opened up much sooner, which would've been very good.

But the guy has turned into a joke. His ego just won't let him accept that he lost. Were there some shenanigans in the voting of some states? Looks like it, but nothing that would've changed the results. Did the media kill valid stories that would've harmed the dems - You betcha - been doin' that for years.

His bitterness also probably cost the Republican Party at least three Senate seats and control of the Senate. That has had real-world consequences, including massive spending and confirmation of some leftist jurists. He should step aside.

yep, they don't seem to care that orange was a registered Dem and in with the Clintons not long ago, He had tried to run as a Dem for a while, but for whatever reason that base would not go for it. Soooo, he trotted out the birther theory on Fox News, it took like wildfire, and then he runs as a Republican.

I agree with both you and nein51. Arguably Biden has said things 100 times more divisive and hateful than Trump every did, but he's never going to get "fair" treatment. Trump was not smart enough to figure that out and realize even if he was correct he would not be given a fair shake.

that he attracts the drama is a mark in his favor.

Look at the dishonesty in the ad - clearly intended to make the viewer think there was a dramatic moment where Trump walked out of the interview (because Piers is so good that he finally nailed Trump on all of Trump's BS). In fact, the two have known one another for years, the interview concluded as planned, at which point the two stood up, shook hands, and bid each other farewell. It's a teaser ad. That's what teaser ads do.

But what we see with Trump is different. It's alphabet media defending cultural hegemony (the progressive agenda). They "other" people who are effective at opposing cultural hegemony (the progressive agenda).

If DeSantis becomes the nominee (which he would should Trump not run), they will go after him as relentlessly as Trump. It's just what they do, so don't let it run you off. Let it ratify that you have chosen the right candidate to support. Find me a Republican the media leaves alone, and I'll show you an empty suit.

Trump will not walk away.
We should not want him to.
We should re-elect him, if for no other purpose than to hold him under the nose of cultural hegemony.
To inflict such cognitive dissonance upon them that their vanities shatter.
He'll be an enormous improvement of the boiling cauldron of incompetence that is the progressive movement.
