Guess what? We're here and we're not going anywhere. We're not freaks. We're people. The sooner you learn to accept tolerance and equality the better. LGBTQ are Christians too. And your hateful message is more out of line with the teachings of Jesus then Baylor deciding to not discriminate against LGBTQ people will ever be.
Baylor was never discriminating against LMFAO freaks.... you are just making that crap up.

LGBTQ are NOT Christians. It is one thing to struggle with sin, and it is entirely another thing to be proud of your sin, and to choose to identify yourself by your sin... and every letter of it is considered a sin.. not by me, but by God himself.

You don't have an issue with Baylor or anyone else, you have an issue with God. So have fun telling the Creator of the Universe that He is wrong... good luck with that.

How did Baylor sell its soul? Of all issues why do you pick this one to die on a hill over? I'll never understand it. Would you also have been against integration and inter-racial marriage? Christians used to oppose those things too. Many Baptists still oppose dancing -- did Baylor sell it soul when it allowed dancing?? Baylor is leading the way on how Christian entities can show compassion and provide a caring environment for LGBTQ people going forward. What Baylor is doing is actually revolutionary and I believe in line with the teachings of love and compassion of Jesus far more than promoting discrimination and hate will ever be.

Let me clarify my position on this particular issue. I'm not down with any formal LBTQ or whatever it is called, at Baylor. It's a little much for me. BU is a private school and can roll anyway they want. Hey, lets not kid ourselves. When I got to BU in the mid 80's, hell, I thought half of the guys were gay as a parade. (I'm looking at you KOTs). Gay folks are abundant at BU, but we need not roll over. We need to be compassionate, but not sell out the farm. Absurd homophobic comments by Mr. Growel Towel and just not helpful. Hope that makes sense.

Who said anything about not being Christians? Christ would say go and sin no more. Being gay is no sin, following up on the act is well documented in the Bible as not kosher. As is self- pleasuring, if you believe the Bible. Being this is a message board for thee largest Baptist university, I would think that position was well known and believed, as opposed to a public school.

No, not freaks. Just sinners engaged in a sinful lifestyle and headed down a path toward destruction, just like the rest of us who embrace (rather than repent from) habitual sin.

My sin was different, but I've been there. Thankfully, God grabbed me and rescued me many years ago.

Unfortunately, this argument isn't going to work before a perfect God. We are all sinners. When we embrace the idea that God made us succumb to things he calls sin, we are on dangerous ground.

Look how many times Israel rebelled and returned to God. Look at things like The Great Awakening and The Jesus Revolution. We are never too far from God that we can't come back but, it takes revival and that would be ordained by God. Then again, at some point, He will have his fill of sin.

Not sure I understand the outrage. The Baylor Board of Regents told us who they were in 2015. They are gonna tap dance around what is popular and what is right. They have no backbones. It is what it is. Like Washington, D.C., they have done an excellent job of hanging on to power. Gotta give 'em some credit. I no longer give them any dollars.

Jesus taught love and acceptance for all and made it clear he didn't come to condemn but to save through acceptance of and faith in his sacrifice on the cross to pay for what is defined as sin ("missing the mark") in the scriptures. Examples of "sin"according to the scriptures includes things like lying, stealing, coveting, adultery, murder, gluttony, and homosexuality. Jesus simultaneously opposed sin and preached repentance (I.e. turning away from sin - with God's help). So does Jesus love the LGBTQ community and want his followers to do the same? The answer is a resounding "yes". Does Jesus also love, condone and encourage his followers to love the sin of the LGBTQ community? The answer is a resounding "no". Whatever sins any of us struggle with, I believe it's Jesus'/God's desire that we with God's help continually repent and to the best of our ability strive to stop committing those sins. Of course when we fail, forgiveness is available if we confess the sin and ask for the forgiveness.

And that's not a form of hate or a form of persecution.

It means allowing LGBTQ people to be able to exist. It means providing the full resources and opportunities afforded to any other students. It means formally recognizing them by allowing them to form a student organization just as other students are able to do. It means allowing LGBTQ students a safe place to come together with others who are similar in community and fellowship. If you're LGBTQ you no longer have to hide who you are at Baylor. So true, but the actionable part is go and sin no, more. Not marry a guy and teach 7 year olds about transgenderism. The union, at least in the Bible, must lead to procreation. Guy on guy or guy becomes girl cannot lead to procreation. So how is any of that consistent with the Church??? Be gay, be chaste, be Christian, if we are going with Christ and the Churchs law.

Dude, this is Baylor, the Baptist Notre Dame. What the hell do you expect. Anyone on this Board probably went to Baylor and graduated. We probably lean right....

They actually already had a club (Gamma Alpha Upsilon).

That club they started just did not have an official charter from the University and did not get funds from Baylor student life.

So the argument that they did not have a group to fellowship with and socialize with is a lie.

Not to mention regular people at Baylor don't go around asking each other about their private sexuality. They could have joined any club on campus and made friends and had fun.

But what they really wanted was a campus approved and sponsored advocacy group.

What does "show compassion and provide a caring environment for LGBTQ people" look and sound like? What does the BTQ aspect require to be considered compassionate and caring?

Sorry to be so direct, but we were told "people just want to love and marry who they want", but clearly that's not all that has transpired since then.
It shows there is a place for you here.
To exist? Really? Again, what opportunities were denied, specifically. Could they not fellowship in a "safe" environment without the club? What is this club defined by sexual preference representing to the community and Baylor?
They actually already had a club (Gamma Alpha Upsilon).

That club they started just did not have an official charter from the University and did not get funds from Baylor student life.

So the argument that they did not have a group to fellowship with and socialize with is a lie.

Not to mention regular people at Baylor don't go around asking each other about their private sexuality. They could have joined any club on campus and made friends and had fun.

But what they really wanted was a campus approved and sponsored advocacy group.
I thought it was KOT? No?

The smartest thing the LGB's could do would be to distance themselves from the the T's. And all of this drag queens reading stories to kids is not helping people like the LGBT people more and is in fact doing the opposite. Drag queens and children is completely degenerate and any parent that takes their kid to that is a complete moron. Thats like asking for a registered sex offender to babysit your kid.
