Honest question - was there supposed to be a school resource office on campus? Was he out on lunch break?

The resource officer did confront the kid before he entered the building, but at the time the kid didn't have a visible weapon. Also the door was propped open apparently...

Many things went wrong on this one.

No idea where you got this info…it is completely false. The resource officer was not even on campus, and when he did arrive he confused a teacher as the suspect. The teacher had propped the door open to get her cell phone. That teacher is very much to also blame in this tragedy.

She propped the door open a minute before this guy crashed his truck on campus. What unfortunate timing

No doubt…the timing is crazy! The fact she propped open a door, despite the school in fact being on lockdown, should be criminal!

Terrible timing that she propped it open minutes before he arrived. So many things went wrong at exactly the wrong time. If only the wreck, which looked pretty bad, would have disabled the shooter. If the door hadn't been wedged. If the officer's hadn't backed down. This may not have happened.
No doubt there have been many other potential massacres prevented by random chance.

Flooded as we are with drugs, guns, fatherless kids and the mentally ill.

That's great. 19 dead kids though.

19 trained "good" guys that couldn't do ****
Boy, you are an idiot.
Not at all. These situations have shown the only good guys with guns are the ones that are brave enough to face the bullet, which isn't many.

19 "protect and serve" policeman with weapons did as much as you.
Looks like Uvalde police screwed up

Therefore, nobody should defend themselves or others

If you're saying the police are useless, maybe it's time to remove the "protect and serve" all on police cars, defund the police and push those funds towards arming citizens.

If the police cannot do their job they were tasked to do, at what point do we say the system is broken.
I don't think police are useless. I think the Uvalde police feared for their own lives and were not prepared to attack the classroom
The problem with this response is it's well documented they had training 6 weeks prior and multiple times on this subject alone. If "fear" gets in the way of a "good guys" saving children, might be time to go back to the drawing board.
You're right. Instead of taking out the bad guys with guns, we need to take the guns away from all the good guys with guns who aren't brave enough to take out the bad guys with guns. The question is, where do we find enough good guys with guns who are brave enough to take away the guns from the other good guys with guns who didn't take out the bad guys with guns? And if we do find them, why not just have them take out the bad guys? With guns.

I think there were plenty of "good guys with guns" ready to take out the Uvalde shooter. Problem is they were following orders to stand down by a totally inept Uvalde ISD police chief.

Nothing Sam enjoys more than authority figures lying down edicts and people following them, so I would assume he thinks that part went as it should. If the proper authorities aren't followed, chaos ensues.
That and people who don't get sarcasm. Definitely my two favorite things.

Definitely misunderstood your two year run of covid sarcasm and ministry of truth sarcasm.
You missed some of my best work. Should have seen the laughs I got when I said a million people could die.

Not in California or NY

They locked down real hard so I'm sure they saved everyone
Every one, without exception. Otherwise what's the point?

Well they might've lost one or two, but probably not many.
