Also, many conservatives have had a "the satanists are ruining our children" attitude going all the way back to the 70s and 80s with bands like Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Iron Maiden, Kiss, AC/DC, Judas Priest, Slayer, etc. and kids aren't sacrificing goats in front of statues of baphomet en masse. This is just some provocative, trans weirdo trying to make news.
I think this silliness actually goes all the way back to Adam and Eve (who I understand didn't like the music Cain listened to and the VOLUME of it). We all know how Cain turned out. It was that dam satanic music that started him on the path.
But I first became aware of this belief system back in high school in the late 70s, when a cassette tape was passed around our church with a guy claiming to be a former rock insider ... and claiming that EVERY rock album was in fact mastered is some way as to contain actual demons to be released into a house where any album was played. ALL the bands were satanic, but Kiss was the worst. My mom made me toss my Kiss albums (she didn't believe the guy that only burning the albums would get rid of the demons).
I didn't even much like Kiss. But maybe the clown was right, and it's Kiss demons that are controlling my thoughts even now, 45 years or so later.
