And the men look like they were playing at half speed.

To be clear - this is a group of former US players. This is not THE best team that we are sending to the World Cup.

At the same time, Wrexham is not the best team by far either and there were some former players playing as well. I wonder if the women even got ONE shot attempt on goal.

This was a 7x7 match.
I really don't care if they want to play against each other as this was essentially an exhibition game.

Let's just stop these 2 ideas please:

1) Women DESERVE equal pay to men.
2) Men have no biological advantage over women.

You can't have it both ways - keeping men/women sports separate while also stating there are no differences between the two.

Equal pay argument has nothing to do with who can beat whom, it's about the ticket sales and ratings. Obviously with soccer women draw a lot less world wide.

Tennis is a different story which is why the women were successful in arguing for equal pay at top events. There was just as much interest in women's tennis.

But to just say, "Lesser men can beat women in sports and therefore women don't deserve as much money" is not quite right.

There is a great interview with Ronda Rousey where a reporter asks her what she thinks about other women fighters not getting paid as much as men. Rousey answered with something along the lines of, "They're not getting paid as much because people aren't watching them. You think Dana White is paying me a ton of money out of the goodness of his heart? No. He's paying me all that money because a lot of people pay to watch me fight."

Exactly. It is not inherently sexist because women models make millions more than men models or there is not really a "Mr. America" pageant circut. Not sure, but I suspect women figure skaters and gymnists make more than men. You're spot on - it's about money going into the sport from fans.

AS NOTED - WOMEN MAKE UP 51% OF THE U.S. POPULATION ... IF SPORTS IS SEXISTS BLAME WOMEN FOR NOT SELLING OUT EVERY WNBA GAME.

I am arguing against Megan Rapinoe's stance that:

Mens world cup=women's world cup

Mens' team=women's team

Mens' pay=women's pay.
And I don't disagree with you on that at all.

Rapinoe and the rest of the US women's team voted on and chose their contract with built-in guarantees that the men did not and then wanted out of it. They then began making ridiculous arguments for equal pay wanting people to forget the signed contracts and completely ignoring the fact that athletes are effectively in the entertainment industry and are paid based upon the number of people they entertain and how entertained they are.

Straight up market economics.

This. She's an unbelievable player and one of the best to ever do. Her accomplishments are hall of fame level stuff. She doesn't need to beat men to be great. She is great. Period. Because tennis is non-contact and because she has the physical appearance of being big and strong, she's a poster child for people like the lunatic in this video stating she could compete. She can't and she knows it. Her argument subtly went from Serena competing with male pros to whether or not an everyman could score a point against her. All of this nonsense is dumb and should immediately discredit people who try to prop the notion up.
