I'm pretty good at distance with a rifle, but my best shooting is multiple targets at varying ranges with handguns.
Love my customized CZ, or a nice Sig... but I'm deadly out to 100 yards with my 1911.
I've been carrying for almost 30 years. I don't carry because I'm concerned about being attacked. I'm not a typical target for a criminal. I carry because if I was in a situation like this one, I don't want to go defend someone else with nothing but my hands... especially if there are more than one or two bad guys.

Amen Brother. My Dad owned a bunch of firearms. The only guns I have ever purchased was an AR-15 and a Mossberg short pump shotgun that I purchased with,............wait for it...........wait for it............the first round of government distributed Covid stimulus money! LOL!!!! Oh, the irony.

My weapon of choice that is usually not far from me is a government issued M1911 .45 that I inherited from my Uncle who fought in WWII. It is 80 years old but an awesome weapon. Have never had to use it and God willing, I never will.

****For the record, all of my firearms were recently lost in a burglary. Going forward, I will do my best to defend myself with a baseball bat and some bear spray. ******

I'm a life long hunter, and got into competitive shooting (handguns & shotguns mostly) in college.
I'm pretty good at distance with a rifle, but my best shooting is multiple targets at varying ranges with handguns.
Love my customized CZ, or a nice Sig... but I'm deadly out to 100 yards with my 1911.
I've been carrying for almost 30 years. I don't carry because I'm concerned about being attacked. I'm not a typical target for a criminal. I carry because if I was in a situation like this one, I don't want to go defend someone else with nothing but my hands... especially if there are more than one or two bad guys.

Amen Brother. My Dad owned a bunch of firearms. The only guns I have ever purchased was an AR-15 and a Mossberg short pump shotgun that I purchased with,............wait for it...........wait for it............the first round of government distributed Covid stimulus money! LOL!!!! Oh, the irony.

My weapon of choice that is usually not far from me is a government issued M1911 .45 that I inherited from my Uncle who fought in WWII. It is 80 years old but an awesome weapon. Have never had to use it and God willing, I never will.

****For the record, all of my firearms were recently lost in a burglary. Going forward, I will do my best to defend myself with a baseball bat and some bear spray. ******

In case you didn't know, there are a lot of people, (like this ron.reagan guy) who would love nothing more than to confiscate all guns that are owned by law-abiding citizens. They hate the idea of normal people being able to defend themselves. A few of them are total fools who believe that by disarming normal people, you can somehow also disarm criminals. Some of them are more overt, and will tell you that they actually hate the idea of normal people being able to defend themselves from government authority. They want a strong centralized government who can rule over the masses... they never have learned how that inevitably ends with their own subjugation and destruction. They actually believe that they will be one of those special ones at the top, in control over the rest of us. It is called "useful idiots", and it is a requirement for every tyrannical overthrow of a democratic society. They are the horses of Animal Farm, actually believing that they are one of the pigs. They also forget that even the pigs turned on the other pigs... there is never enough room at the top for the useful idiots like ron.reagan.

So it will be sad when they come to my house and discover that all my guns were tragically lost in an alien abduction incident. So very sad.

Yes, Knives can kill, as can Cars and Rope and Electricity and countless other things, Guns are the only things that are specifically designed to Kill People/Animals though and therefore they are far more efficient at doing so. If this PoS had been in possession of a Gun, then its highly likely there would be several dead Kids from this incident and probably some Dead Adults too, fortunately he wasnt able to get one and therefore that didnt happen.

That Cop was killed 7 years ago, whearas the briefest of googling uncovers an American Cop was stabbed to Death just 2 years ago, despite having a Gun.

maybe you should go watch the video in the original post on this thread... and then reconsider your statement about "gun crime".

I will warn you, it is hard to watch a video of a man casually walking around with a knife.... stabbing little babies in their strollers, while their mothers scream in horror. He was able to simply walk around with a knife because he knew that no one... NO ONE... was armed with any kind of weapons. He knew that his life was in no danger, and he could slaughter the children of his enemies at will.

But hey... no gun crimes were committed that day, right? So that's another win for "gun control".

what can you do? ok, so plenty of your citizenry have guns, but lets be real here, the Government has Armed Forces with advanced Weapons, Armour, Tanks, Artillery, Drones, Aircraft, Training on how to actually fight as cohesive units and all kinds of advanced logistics, if it ever came to that (It wont), your armed ragtag militia (Several of whom wouldnt be in great shape, compared to Soldiers who have to be fit as part of their jobs) would be branded as Domestic Terrorists and erased from the map in a matter of days.
