Gotta disagree. Haley and Scott have promise.

Question is, if someone not Trump but GOP wins the White House, can they resist the full court press from the Swamp?

Make the wrong VP choice, or a weak Attorney General, or a wobbly FBI Director, and you might as well have elected Romney.

Trump cleaned out his own appointees more than he cleaned out the swamp. Don't mistake campaign rhetoric for action or success. Trump made the swamp worse and is about to drown in the swamp.
Cool story, bro.
This must be that humility OldBear was talking about.
More like I agree Trump's ego did him damage, but he did more to bring awareness of the Swamp than any President since Ike. And some of the cabinet picks failed because the GOP-controlled Congress had the spine of a marshmallow.
Cool story, bro. ;-)

How many cabinet members did he go through? Remember McMasters was disloyal. Mattis was not tough enough. Kelly was disloyal. Bolton, Rex, Priepus, etc...

Trump had a 92% turnover rate! Come on, at least be a little honest about Trump.

He had some bad hires, that's for sure. Most definitely trusted some of the wrong people. I would say that was his biggest failure as president, trusting the wrong people.

Also, it wouldn't surprise me if some folks got out (some early) because they thought he was going down over the fake collusion story. Also, with all the BS (faked evidence, lies, spying, etc...) coming from the democrats (and establishment Republicans) hell-bent on either 1) taking him down or 2) removing him or 3) getting him to quit... It's no surprise that people in DC, notoriously known for being self-serving little twats (hell, they'd sell out their own mother for a cushy gig), would jump ship thinking they don't want anything to blow back on them.

Hell, democrats were already talking impeachment before Trump was even inaugurated

I do agree that Trump's seemed to hire on name and GOP recommendation rather than get people that believed in his platform. For example, Bolton, Mattis and Tillerson.

Mattis is an honorable man, have great respect for him, but his believe in coalition war, the NATO post-WW2 model and the US's role as the leader in that model is not a fit for Trump. Mattis has been respectful and in my opinion he and McMasters handled leaving the best. I have a ton of respect for McMasters.

He needed more believers in his policies, even if not the big names, to be effective. Haley, Pompeo, Mnunchin, DeVry, etc. It is a double edge sword, as he had some really good policies. But, he also has some whacked out believes as well.

My biggest fear of a Trump 2, is that he will try to privatize Government, bringing back a spoils system. I fear he will take out his "deep state" paranoia on the working class Government workers who are professionals just trying to do their job.

So, what exactly are some of Trump's wacky beliefs?

"Deep State" is used by most conservatives to describe the "administrative state", which does in fact exist. We live in a time when these bureaucrats issue edicts that are treated like a law that hasn't been debated about and voted on by our elected leaders.... you know, the very people we send to Washington D.C. to debate and vote on stuff.

I'm not worried about some fed workers losing their cushy job if Trump 2.0 reduces the size of our bloated gov't. After all, our bloated federal gov't doesn't care when pipeline workers lose their job or blue collar workers lose their job when it's shipped overseas. What is is that liberals like to say? "Just go back to school, learn a new skill and get a different job".

Frankly, I'm more concerned about our lifelong politicians being compromised by countries like China. Compromised by lobbyists. Compromised by big companies. Compromised by rich tech. Compromised by special interest groups. I think you see my theme.

Trump's in Westchester County was valued at 80 million to get a 21 million dollar tax benefit, then had it valued a 200 and 291 million depending on his need. Here is the article.

Foreign governments (including China and Saudi Arabia) leased entire floors of Trump properties and didn't even use them for years at a time, as a way to openly funnel money into Trump's pocket. Every vacation Trump took as POTUS was to a Trump property, funneling tax dollars into his own pocket. Trump's daughter and son in law made about $700m (more than Hunter's entire net worth several times over) while working as White House employees, using security clearances Trump had to order his IC to grant because they were too shady to actually pass the background checks. Trump refused to release his tax returns because they showed he made a $17m withdrawal from his Chinese bank account right after he became POTUS.

Please share your evidence of Joe Biden receiving the money you allege.
There's plenty of evidence from bank records to text messages to emails to other emails using fake names to videos of joe biden bragging about getting a prosecutor fired for investigating a company that involved with his son.

But let's be honest here humckleberry... the evidence is out there, what you want is concrete proof (a smoking gun). Even if biden outright admitted it, you still wouldn't believe it. Why? Because you're the most partisan boot licker on this board.

Weren't you the only idiot wearing out your keyboard trying to deflect and defend joe biden's fubar'd Afghan pull out? Even after your liberals bretheren even acknowledged how bad biden screwed it up.

It's not like the Republicans need to order and purchase a fake dossier.

Maybe if the only business that Trump had built was an influence peddling scheme from being in office for half century, maybe that would make you happier?

Giving Trump credit for corruption awareness is like crediting Bonnie and Clyde for bank security.
Corruption is horrible, when it is working against you. Take a look at the Tax Credits and the valuations of some of his properties. That was sound Government...
Looking at what the county appraisal district has valued my property at, is corrupt.
Trump's in Westchester County was valued at 80 million to get a 21 million dollar tax benefit, then had it valued a 200 and 291 million depending on his need. Here is the article.

Trump has had a half century as a real estate developer. Lyin' Biden has had a half century of using political clout to peddle influence to lobbyists and foreign countries.

Big difference there partner.

But please, show us where Trump created multiple shell companies so that money from China to Jared would be hidden and difficult to trace and spread among sisters/brothers/grand children.

Face it dude, you're guy is up to his nose in corruption. The cracks in the biden crime family network of selling out America for cash is starting to show and you're besides yourself.

But please, go on, keep trying to deflect with "but Trump this".... I'm not even voting for the guy in the primary.

You make a great point. I am sick of the "but he or she did it" tactic in discussing these acts.

Biden should be investigated
Hunter should be indicted
Hillary should be investigated and/or indicted
Trump should be indicted.

Whether or not there is negligence in investigating or prosecuting the others, IT DOES NOT GIVE THE REST A PASS!

Hunter should be indicted It's in the court system now, but let us wait until the grand jury indicts
Hillary should be investigated and/or indicted Has been investigated but no one sought indictments
Trump should be indicted. 99 already

Giving a pass is immaterial. Many have sought indictments in the judicial courts with Trump and the Bidens but no one has sought them for Hillary and that is not a pass it is just how the system works. Write your congress person and get them to investigate Hillary.
