It was not an insurrection, let's be honest. At no time was the "Government in harms way to be overthrown".

Now, just because it is not an insurrection does not clear those that took part. They all should be prosecuted. Trump and his crowd should be held responsible for their part in getting the crowd worked up and sending them to Congress. That DOES NOT include making Trump ineligible for public office. Every once in awhile the blunder horribly and we get the report of the "mostly peaceful protests" with rioters & fires raging in the background. Those were from one of the dozens of examples of mob violence in 2020 far worse than anything that happened in J6.

Yea, were some people in the crowd engaged in rioting like behavior...yes. Though of course 90% of the crowd was peaceful. If they had not been they could have burned the capitol down.
