Isnt this the guy everyone whined about a few months ago for not wearing a suit? I dont agree with all his positions and will never vote Dem but i admire his determination and non conformity.
You better be careful about not toeing the predominant party on this board. Hope you ae enjoying your retirement. I retired twice and am back working in Waco. It's ok but i will start wandering again this summer. Hurry May.
The predominant opposition on this board is toward the uniparty which is made up of both democrats and republicans.
Fetterman is saying things the uniparty doesn't like. People are recognizing it as an improvement on his part.
Uniparty? Geez . . . More Bannon BS.
Uniparty was coined back in the early 2000s to describe money driven politics. You're either a Democrat or republican that answers to financial benefit and racketeering or you're an honest politician who's not in it for money and power.
Like GOP and democrats begging and meddling for more war to drive up profits for Raytheon so that Raytheon sends them a big fat campaign check: https://www.opensecrets.org/orgs/rtx-corp/summary?id=D000072615 I mean hell Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, for example, sat on Raytheon's board before joining the administration. That's just one example.
Why the hell would you be against calling out corruption in DC?
It's another way of saying they support profits over people.
Maybe we have so many issues in Politics because everyone keeps going on about conspiracies when the truth is that everybody gets butt sore when decisions don't go there way.
You really give these people way too much credit for being that organized.
It's legal corruption. It's super easy for them and they've been doing it for many decades.
Ok. IF that is the case, what do you think is going to happen to change it? One step further, how does *****ing help? Finally, you think Trump is going to clean it up and make it better? If anything he will just modify it to benefit him.
It is the case. Lobbying is a real thing and politicians get kickbacks.
Telling people how DC actually works will change their worldview and help them vote for the right kinds of people.
A president doesn't really have the power to address this. Congress would have to vote against their own financial benefits to make a real change: its not an easy task and will likely never happen.
Lobbying has been in place since the beginning. That is not corruption as the MAGA people state.
Will it change? Typically, it takes a huge disaster to get that type of reform. I agree with you that there is a lobbying issue. Just don't see how it will change. I prefer to figure how to work with it to get things done. There are always compromises. In my opinion, the skill is getting the right things included in what will not change. It is not a coincidence that these people enter Congress as normal people and end up wealthy elite.
Don't see how it changes. Don't see Trump as a solution. Finally, if the Conservatives don't use the system to their advantage the Dems will. At least with the GOP people can "rent" a life. They may not get rich, but they can buy a house and cash flow their lives. Under Dems, not possible based on Biden's performance.
