United Methodists repeal longstanding ban on LGBTQ clergy

The change doesn't mandate or even explicitly affirm LGBTQ clergy, but it means the church no longer forbids them. It's possible that the change will mainly apply to U.S. churches, since United Methodist bodies in other countries, such as in Africa, have the right to impose the rules for their own regions. The measure takes effect immediately upon the conclusion of General Conference, scheduled for Friday. AP News

If you are in a church that is losing the spiritual battle, may I suggest that it isn't a church but something else. The temporal fortunes of the church may wax and wane, but the gates of hell do not prevail against Christ's church. If you are in an organization that is being overrun by feminists, homosexuals, trannies, etc go looking for the original.

More than half the United Methodist Church congregations have left for the new Global Methodist Church…

And given that the growing African Methodist congregations were the ones that were against the social-cultural leftist drift of the United Methodist Church…the new traditionalist Global Methodist Church is in a position to see big growth

How will liberals spin the Black African conservatives going together with White North American conservatives as "racism"?

I am so interested to see how that is spun

People of the past didn't call it a sin because they hated them…hell Romans engaged in it often. It's a sin becuse they were freaking dying by engaging in anal sex, especially with multiple men.

The other aspect is it doesn't allow reproduction.

This is what goes against God. You're so wrapped up in this black and white idea that people are simply hateful. I wish it was that simple, but it's not, there's actual dangers to humanity because of it.

Matthew 5. This is one of those things that christian leaders who try to construct a culturally compatible wide road promote. According to Jesus, the thought makes you guilty of the deed.

This is a good question.

Let's define define desires and thoughts.

I desire to have sex with women. That is a natural desire because I'm a man. SSA People have desire to have sex with people of the same sex. This is a disordered desire.

The desire, alone, is not in and of itself sinful.

I desire often desire chocolate or good whiskey. Natural desires. Nothing is wrong with that.

With respect to thoughts, if a thought pops into my head to have sex with a woman (not my wife), that is a natural thought and not sinful.

What IS sinful, is dwelling on or entertaining that thought. Essentially fantasizing about that act with another woman.

That is Lust.

With respect to a person with SSA, having that thought pop into their mind about sex with another person of the same sex is not sinful. It's disordered, but not sinful. It's a fleeting thought. If that SSA person dwells on that thought, they've engaged in lust. That is sinful.

I, and the Chuch, still stand by my original premise - having SSA is NOT a sin. Acting on it (and now with the addendum of dwelling to the point of lust) is sinful.

The Methodist Church is gone. They have turned their backs on God and His Word.
If you are part of a Methodist church which does not agree with all of this... it is far beyond time for your congregation to leave the denomination.

This is how they conduct their meetings... there is no hope for these fools.

I am hopeful this new Global Methodist denomination will encourage a return to the fear of the Lord for many congregations.

But yes, so many "churches" are now in open rebellion to the Word of God.

I don't think Coke is promoting a "wide road". I believe he is acknowledging that people battle temptation.

A person that has same sex attractions but does not cave in to those attractions I don't believe is committing that sin.

Straight, Christian men struggle with greed, envy, pornography and many other things. The struggle is not the sin. Losing a battle in those struggles is the sin.
