These were jobs making $15-25 an hour or higher. And Springfield was using GOs to subsidize their non workers (welfare).

This plays out all over the country, and you guys want to blame the immigrants (not illegal), when places like Greeley, Colorado and their slaughter house pays African import labor $20-25 an hour to do jobs really no one wants to do. There are very specific industries that immigrants have significant presence in. And the reality of the labor market is Americans very rarely are competing with them for those jobs. And that is ok and what we want. We need to be focused on foundational higher skill sectors and let the labor market work opportunistically to solve the issue.

The real irony here is you guys gripe about things like importing less expensive agricultural goods because of needed food security (which I certainly concur with) but then also gripe about the domestic manner in which it is kept flowing (immigrant labor) and competitive on the global market. Damned if we do and damned if we don't.

All legal jobs are honest work. Every society has talented people and less talented people. A national economy has to work for everyone, and there has to be a place for American citizens who can't go to college or get a graduate degree to perform honest work. Just because I go to work and make 10x more than the guy who changes my oil, or 20x the waitress who brought me dinner doesn't mean I am better than they are. It is not right to import massive numbers of non-Americans to artificially suppress the labor market.

Importing millions of low skill workers do not boost our economy at all. In fact, just the opposite:

1. They overwhelm welfare agencies, public he adds other facilities, schools, etc. Every govt program spends more money on these people bug little or no return.
2. They take jobs from American high school & college students.
3. Their criminal behavior overwhelm our police departments & criminal justice system (mostly injustice under the fascists).
4. Under our current fascist regime, billions of dollars for other programs (FEMA) were diverted to illegal aliens harming Americans indirectly. Ask the people of North Carolina.

If I thought about it, I probably could come up with other examples.
