The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) website lists a set of three goals as part of their strategic plan to "address key challenges" in emergency management. The number one goal listed in the agency's priorities is to "instill equity as a foundation of emergency management."
The second goal is "Lead Whole of Community in Climate Resilience" and the third goal is "Promote & Sustain a Ready FEMA & Prepared Nation."
According to FEMA's plan, "Diversity, equity, and inclusion cannot be optional."

When dealing with FEMA, stick with the Emergency Management folks. They are the real ones that live - Prepare, Respond, Recover.

Goal

The common goal is a secure and resilient nation. We define a series of national preparedness elements that are needed to achieve this goal.

I have no problem with those folks and have been to many training.

The failing FEMA response to Helene seems to be out of the playbook they used for the fires in Hawaii.

If this hurricane had it blue areas of these states, the Brown/Brandon administration would be working warp speed. But it hit red areas in two swing states - ****ing crickets. People don't vote when they can't eat.

FWIW, although most of the Blue Ridge mountain area of NC is rock-ribbed conservative, Asheville is about as blue and swishy as San Francisco and Fire Island.

This is the truth. Asheville is like a giant Haight Ashbury and most fo the little towns around it all have Trump flags. Its pretty heart breaking how bad this whole thing is. Here in Charleston we have a ton of drop off sites with trucks leaving daily to take supplies to the upstate and the mountains.

It would be bad enough if this was incompetence. This is an attempt to kill and disenfranchise rural Trump voters and prevent them from voting, making it easier for Harris to win North Carolina. The people aren't incompetent, they ae malignant.
