Well if you were going to cheat, setting up a system where you have days or even weeks after an election to count the votes is a pretty good way to enable that. Mail in ballots can be duplicated and swapped.

House control is important, you can bet that they are "finding" votes now for the closest races.

Maybe '24 will be the exception, but it seems like the dims almost always come out on top (usually by a hair) in the elections where the vote count suspiciously goes on for days or even weeks on end.

NY times at 1:15 CST. A few have reported changes, but some are where they were yesterday. Seems to have no uniformity. I dont really see a path for the Dems to take the House in any manner.

I still say it's insanity it's taking this long.

Florida and Texas have figured this stuff out, other states
need to fall in line.

It isn't rocket science.

California with 60 something percent in is insanity.

Way too easy to cheat.

Based on economics, it seems evident California cannot count, period.

Repubs almost certainly have it.

And don't ascribe to intentional malice, what can be explained by ineptitude. You guys crow about Florida counting so fast, butthey had to be a national embarrassment before righting the ship.

I will say I don't understand this level of incompetence. But it does seem simple incompetence.

I'm not sure I would agree with that. I think its the far left holding the counts until they figure out if they can affect the outcome. Republicans saw just how far the left would go to steal an election like they did in 2020. An unexplained 15-20 million extra Democrats voting in the hand held Covid era. And look at the damage Biden-Harris did in the past three and half years. This time, with watchdogs, the Dem numbers dropped back to similar to 2012 and 2016. Unexplainable

Been watching this one, Ohio 9. Couldnt figure out why it hadnt closed. Here's the note on it:

There are still some votes left to count in Ohio. Postmarked ballots are allowed to arrive up to four days after the election, on Saturday, Nov. 9. This is the same deadline for voters who cast provisional ballots to provide proof of identity.

This is opening up a bit. Up to about half a point and 1560 votes. Explanation of why it's so slow: Most voters cast ballots by mail in Arizona, and counting typically takes days. Officials in Pima County, where a majority of voters in this district live, said on Wednesday that they expected to be counting into next week. A two-page ballot has slowed down tabulation and made it harder to estimate when they might finish.

neck and neck in Arizona 6, only 200 votes apart
With 76% in, looking pretty good now!:

Juan Ciscomani *incumbent
Republican
164,697
+49.08% 49.08%

Kirsten Engel
Democrat
163,137
+48.62% 48.62

Apparently a lot of the votes are coming in via mail. And a lot of that mail is coming in from the suburbs and country, which is Republican country. I say, take your time Arizona!

BTW - Orange County, Cali is about 50-50, we are just under .4% down. Never would have guessed that. I think the Trump administration needs to start appealing to California blue collar and young families trying to raise kids with the economy in disaray

Check this rather bizarre note out in Maine as there is an undecided up there: Maine uses ranked-choice voting, which allows voters to select multiple candidates in order of preference. Because the race is so close, officials are bringing ballots to the State Capitol for a second round of tabulation. If a voter's first choice was a write-in candidate or left blank, that ballot will now be reallocated to a second-choice candidate, if the voter marked one. The process will take some time.

As it pertains to leaving it blank, seems to me that if someone isnt smart enough to choose a first choice, the ballot should be tossed out

These are the ones to keep an eye on to get the final counts it appears. The 95% ones could take days due to the laws in those states. I dont see a real path to 218 for the Dems

No kidding. Never really paid close attention to the House before. Always the Senate and President. Amazing how the laws in each area are so different.

Florida was counted on ejection night in 2000. It took months to resolve all the lawsuits and recounts.

Big difference.

3 days later and only 60% counted? That's far more than just incompetent.. that's deliberate.

Miller Meeks is almost finished. Should be in the red wave this afternoon or early evening. NY Times showing nearly all votes in,

Besides Miller Meeks, R get Alaska and hopefully 2 in Cali one in AZ and one in CO.

Maybe they eek out 221 or 222.

But I'll take 218.

I know what you mean. Like I said before, I never really paid attention to the House race, but with all the data coming in these days, and all the varying state rules/laws, it's kinda interesting. Wonder if there will be a movement to make voting similar all over the country?
