We are hiring people to lead that are being evaluated and rewarded on meeting Wall St metrics, not the functional metrics of the organization. It is causing havoc. Herb Keleher is spinning in his grave, we need more operations and an organizational performance reward structure. The current environment in the US rewards the risk averse and the bean counters. US went from a Nation of doers to a Nation of lawyers, accountants and risk managers. We hear constantly about lowering cost and reducing risk, meanwhile performance is getting worse and worse... Transportation should be about performance of the systems, not the sacred Bond Rating.

Sure but they only lose customer loyalty tho if they publicly drop DEI. They won't really gain any new customers or strengthen loyalty much by doing so.

Not really. I like Macs because I mostly like the quality of the product and how it works. Dropping DEI will likely increase that because it's a sane & classic business model: constant improvements to remain competitive. Woke corporations who put fascist products above other priorities inevitably fail, at least in the short run. Budweiser, Target, Disney, & many others found out the hard way. Some are still learning while others still need a blast of reality.
