Trump to declare a national emergency for illegals

Trump confirms plans to use military for mass deportations of illegal immigrants. While many don't want to admit it as a good solution because it's not the "soft and feely" thing to do, it certainly is about time we had someone trying to solve the problem of illegal immigration. It seems that no one else in politics wants to solve it, and every politician just accepts that we have to let the illegals "ride it out in the states" because they're already here. The average Americans definitely think it's far past time for the government to actually do something other than turning a blind eye.

As a freedom loving citizen who expects our (legal residents) rights to be protected, I know that there could be abuses or areas of concern. But until we see how this is implemented, I will remain optimistic until proven otherwise. Hopefully he won't have to use the military much, and the threat alone will drive many to head home and try to enter legally.

Morally, it is the right thing to do.

Politically, it would be a bad look.

I would go a long way to stop to the surrender to the cartels and deport criminals.

Agreed, but I think many Americans are tired of their politicians turning a blind eye to this. His voters will be glad that he has the balls to do it.

Also, let's be real. Libs are some of the most racist people on the planet. They're good with immigrants coming in, but they don't want to live next to them. So they'll publicly disparage Trump, but they will secretly be glad someone is doing it.

High dollar virtue signaling libs would give them the Martha's Vineyard not in my neighborhood treatment.

They don't give a crap about immigrants. They just want to get SJW points with their words, not their deeds.
By the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved.

Elections have consequences.

And electing a dementia riddled nominee who 'won' with 81 million 'votes' can result in fatal consequences.

Hope another Pearl Harbor is not on the immediate horizon.

I also hope another 9/11 - or worse - isn't an eventuality as a result of those same consequences.

The United States is in more danger today than at any time since the end of WW2. Hope our current woke members of the Defense Department don't have a death wish.

It was not 300k that went missing, it was 300k children separated from their parents, right? The percentage of that who are missing is something I don't know, but everyone would be upset had 300k children gone missing.

Nope, that was something else. The Biden/Harris admin has effectively lost track of the kids. They've had plenty of time to address the concern, but don't seem motivated because even if their own estimate is inflated the actual numbers are likely very disturbing. Of course they'd actually have to put effort into validating/looking for the kids as well to prove that they know where they are. And I'm guessing that's not on their to do list. Apparently escalating the Russian conflict is top priority.

I'm never ever for using our military against our own citizens. But this invasion is not comprised of our citizens. Military's job is to protect from foreign threats... go get em!

I think that's a fine opinion as long as he has a good solution to the problem.

But let's not pretend that 20 million illegals is not a reasonable "military" use. Military should never be used against citizens, including home searches, but aiding Federal agencies in logistics, transportation, and holding is reasonable. I fully suspect they won't be used to "round up" people, except for maybe the very violent ones such as the South American gangs.

If the military is used in raids, it will be used in homes and workplaces where there are American citizens. Even being used on American soil, support role or not, sets a precedent.

Nobody is for the military being used when American citizens are involved. No exceptions.

Eisenhower mobilized the National Guard to protect the civil rights of black students to attend Little Rock HS. Opinion was divided at the time but history has judged it as an appropriate measure.

Considering how popular Trump's idea of mass deportation is to counter the Biden-Harris invasion of illegals, I suspect most Americans will be ok with it. If it results in genuine spectacular incidents that could change. No doubt the Leftists will try to manufacture some fake events and push for mass amnesty.

If Trump uses the military to round up illegals; it will be a huge mistake.

Better just to dramatically increase the size of ICE.

Yes, ideally if the military is used it should be a supporting role. Raids and roundups would be a mistake and bad precedent.

We have been invaded. The use of a national military to repel and remove an invading force is perfectly legitimate.

Local blue state law enforcement is going to deport zero people. Blue state national guards are likewise going to do nothing unless they are federalized.

Since Eisenhower set the precedent Trump would simply be following precedent. Legally speaking, you're good with that, right?

No it would not

76.7 million voters went for Trump so that he would make immigration a priority

Half of the Democratic coalition (the non-woke working class and moderates) would not care at all about mass deportations

And it would put the focus of the national conversation on immigration (and issue that Republicans win on)

Its a win win for Trump

Liberals and the Media would also freak out about it....but that would just further confirm to moderate democrats and republicans that both groups (woke libs and Media) are out of touch with normal people.

I have no problem with mass deportation as it is necessary, iMO. However, I'd like to know more about how it would be done. Whom?, Dreamers? migrants that have been here and are productive members of society. Devil is always in the detail.

You could have just stopped there

Anyone who is here illegally (or the Haitians given made up protected status by Biden's executive fiat) need to go

Simple as

*and we need to reform birth right citizenship…many of the most productive nations on earth don't have it because it can be so easily abused
