Multiple people with knowledge of the crimes said the perpetrators are nonconfrontational and do not burglarize homes while residents are inside. Instead, they use public records to find players' addresses and conduct extensive surveillance. Then, by tracking team schedules and the social media accounts of players and their families, they wait until homes are empty -- often during games -- and gain access and quickly steal items such as cash, jewelry, watches and handbags, focusing mainly on master bedrooms and closets.
The alert issued on Wednesday by NFL Security confirmed the modus operandi and offered a number of recommendations, including not posting in real time on social media, installing security systems and keeping valuables out of plain sight.

The 14th amendment was created to guarantee that former slaves were citizens with equal rights. The text makes that pretty clear but knowing the historical context makes it abundantly clear. In recent decades it has been abused h VJ or entirely different purposes to promote criminal behaviors & enterprises. It should be possible way to define it more narrowly to keep the original idea while eliminating the abuse.

Because we do an extremely ****ty job if checking exits that don't occur at airports we don't have a really good handle on visa overstays (911 anybody?). Could be 40% of undocumented folks.

Rome had a policy of when tribal nations wanted to join the Empire, they could but had to divide up and give up their 'nationality' and become Roman 1st.
They stopped doing this late 3rd Century and eventually the Goths / Visigoths / and Vandals (considered Foederati, not Roman citizens) all sacked Rome in the 5th century. Eventually the Western Empire line ceased in 476 a.d.... and the further decline of 'whatever Rome was' from then on continued.
They should have never allowed those 'nations' to keep their 'nationalities.'
