Why am I joining @tiktok_us just as the government ban begins?
— Rand Paul (@RandPaul) January 18, 2025
Because I don’t like being told what to do.
I don’t like being told what I can think or say.
The courts may think @tiktok_us is excluded from the first amendment.
I don’t.
I join @tiktok_us today as a form of…
Trump is rewarding the Tik Tok crowd for their votes. He even acknowledged it in a speech a few days ago.boognish_bear said:
Abbott banned TikTok in Texas agencies in 2023 to protect data. I don't know why the stance is softening now.

I imagine if Trump does the extension and if TikTok still doesn't sell to an American company, it will remained banned at that point.quash said:KaiBear said:

As The Great Flip Flopper of our time, he has been on both sides. In early August of 2020 he banned it via EO.
The difference is the US doesnt have control of their alogorithm. It all changed bc tik tok was the most free and all kinds of pro Palestinian content was trending there. The youth were being shown whats really going on there and becoming anti Israel and the Zios couldnt allow a free app that they cant control the narrative so it had to go or be sold to a company they can control,.Keyser Soze said:

Conspiracy Theory
They are kicking Facebook etc. in the ass. This is them working in the background to eliminate competition.
China doesn't need TikTok to spy on us. We are a people who freely give it away.
There it is. They just admitted the real reason they banned TikTok… https://t.co/KuHqFtwH99 pic.twitter.com/3YVjqXKrXF

Did you know that the same Jewish groups responsible for pushing out Ivy League university leaders were also behind forcing the government to ban TikTok? https://t.co/1yyborsldb pic.twitter.com/LUwlkr2VnL
