Ok...the cabinet is on record that 2026 is the year the economy takes off and deportations ramp up

I know an economist pretty well. He does forecasting for manufacturers and Fortune 50s.

Last year he told me his forecast was for pretty large growth in Q1 2027. I said I hoped he was wrong. Now I'm hoping he's right. It's ugly right now.

mass deportations are a negative influence on economic growth.....

I'd put my money on Nein here. From what I know, he's on the front line and understands from a real world perspective more than the most of us.

That's entirely possible.

I sure hope he's right with some growth coming even if it's all the way to 2027. If you're a republican you better hope it comes way sooner than that (like Q2 2026) because it's going to be a bloodbath in November if not.

Democrats need to get busy and catch up on retirements. More retirements from Congress would be good news for the future of the republic.

No one will do nothing because the voters would kick them out of office for trying.

People have been talking about it for decades. But the loudmouths who don't ever want to cut any spending that might lose a vote have drowned them out in the media.

Only on threads about Trump. I am watching him destroy our econonmy, our relationships and the lives of millions to cover his ass and make his kids richer. Annoys me.

In other threads, I am not bitter. I compartmentalize pretty well.

You are not just bitter about Trump. You accept every rumor as true if it insults him, and embrace even anti-American opinions as long as they slime the President.

It's frankly bizarre.

Judeo Christian values. Like the 10 commandments and such. It's not a term for a people.

If one wants to argue about the term not being around 250 years ago, so were a lot of other terms we use to reference back then. The term "Enlightenment" wasn't in use in John Locke's time while he was writing. He was considered later as a foundational thinker of the enlightenment. He would have been confused if you told him he was part of the "enlightenment." During the time of the American Revolution, the term Enlightenment was loosely one of the names of the movement. It was after that time that the term "Age of Enlightenment" was used widely by historians along side the term "Age of Reason."

Are we really arguing semantics because we don't want "Judeo" in a term for the biblical values that were a part of our founding? Might want to step back and take a look at why that is happening.

Biblical values influenced cultural values in colonial America but they only had an indirect influence on our actual political system, which was largely built on enlightenment philosophy. The Old Testament values that she references from the 10 commandments were already prevalent in society while under British common law, so it's not fair to say those values influenced the founding itself, as they were already implemented pre-1776

The Trump administration is launching a new effort to "make government cool again" by hiring Gen Z workers to rebuild the federal talent pipeline after a year of Department of Government Efficiency cuts and to compete more aggressively with the private sector, Fox News Digital has learned.

Officials told Fox News Digital that only about 7% of the federal workforce is under age 30 something Trump administration officials want to change, saying it "poses long-term risks to government readiness and institutional strength."

That 7% is compared to about 22% of the non-government workforce.

"By a factor of 3:1, the federal government is massively under-indexed on early career talent," an official said.

It's frankly bizarre.

Only when the facts around it match up. There are a lot of good people that are not in his camp. This term has been unusual, even you have to admit that. Look at his Cabinet, Hegseth? Patal? Noem? Gabbard? It is a strange mix. I give Rubio, Bondi and Bessent the benefit of the doubt, they are qualified for their positions. Bondi was the AG of FL. Bessent is known on Wall Street as much as Mnuchin was. Rubio has been around DC a long time. I get those.

You really don't think this Administration has been strange, bordering on bizarre? Greenland? Tariffs? DOGE with Musk?
