We know the voters for Biden were faked, and probably a lot of Harris too so there's that

No one but the Leftists want any of that to happen. To the extent they can be avoided they likely will.

****ing really? Venezuela 2.0. Maybe Trump can hire Zohran Mamdani to be CEO of Lockheed Martin.

Why don't we go ahead and have a government monopoly of the oil industry like Mexico has? Seems to be working for them. This nationalization kick of private industry needs to stop!!!

Trump's setting the precedent so the next Democratic administration can do that with big oil. Just think how they could advance their climate agenda by doing that. This administration seems determined to kill the golden goose and principles of freedom simultaneously.

This is what worries me the most about taking stakes in private companies. I hadn't thought of big oil but it is probably more likely than gun manufacturers.

Here's the scenario. The octavia cortez administration makes moves that drives up the price of oil. They then declare a national emergency and acquire stakes in oil companies. Over the next 4 years they scuttle the companies from the inside. I have to buy a portable solar panel to keep my home utilities running when electricity prices soar. octavia cortez claims we saved the planet.

Yes, there's that.

Right now, there's this:

It's scary. I'd bet someone in the Biden adm. got a big kickback for that. 10% for the big guy?

Our focus has been on counter-intelligence and counter-terrorism. We aren't nearly as well prepared to counter such pervasive influence operations. We've got a LOT of problems.....

Not cynical and not wrong.

Trump has to keep the economy strong or its game over.

Q: Did President Donald Trump solve seven wars in seven months?

A: Trump has claimed he "ended" six or seven wars since returning to the White House in January. Experts in international relations said the president has had a significant role in ending fighting in four conflicts, though officials in one country refute Trump's claim. But some of the international disagreements Trump cites have not been wars, and some clashes have not ended, experts said.

Some of the leaders of those countries have nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. To be honest, he's earned it far more than most Americans that got it for far less.

Draining the swamp and cleaning up the deep stare means getting rid of those with their own agenda. Such people limited Trump's first term effectiveness. Not going to happen now.

There is inner professional dissent, but public dissent against the company/government/ organization usually carries consequences for employees. The bureaucrats should not have the power to override policy. Private disagreement (even vociferous disagreement) can be tolerated. Once decisions are made, move the policies forward, or resign. This not uncommon in free and civil societies.

again, we see the left trying to redefine reality, in this case war & peace itself, to deny the man any credit for what he's accomplished.

Or to use their job to act like enemy moles and undermine the effective operation of the policies the officials were elected to do. Arguably, deep state obstructionists are guilty of treason.

So if you purchase a home which actually is your primary residence on a 30yr loan, then some number of years down the road you decide to move to a 2nd location and obtain another 30yr loan to purchase it but keep the original house......are you legally required to refinance the first home on a new mortgage (bearing a higher interest rate) just to avoid the allegation of fraud?

Of course not.

LOTS of electeds in Austin have done stuff like that. Former Sen. Sibley from Waco had a home in Waco and a townhouse in Austin. I have no idea what he declared or not on his mortgage, but he did declare the townhome as his "homestead." (a potential political problem - residency - for someone seeking to represent Waco.) I asked him about it directly in a one-on-one lunch. He was honest = he declared the Austin townhome as his homestead because it was worth a lot more money than his Waco residence. I nodded and we moved on to other topics.

Res ipsa loquitur: Paxton has not been prosecuted for anything he is alleged to have done. So the worst that can be said at this point is that he's incautious about appearances. Against that, he has a stellar record on the issues, which is why voters keep re-electing him. (I'm not sanguine about his chances in 2026, though....)

but the neverPaxton crowd is gonna neverPaxton. They cannot stand the notion of a conservative who promises to do conservative things actually daring to do a lot of conservative things.
