The Kosher Right are all insane leftist psychopaths... they have ZERO principles and will adopt identity politics whenever its convenient. Their only real values are Jewish supremacy and Israel.
man, you do rise to the hate-bait.
How about explaining, without mentioning race or the word Jew or Christian, how America is better off without a close relationship with Israel. Can you do it?
Can you tell us how we benefit from this close relationship? It feels awfully one-sided at times. I'm not being snarky, I'm open to having a genuine conversation
Some people are anti-Semitic, but a lot of us are simply scratching our heads wondering why this tiny nation in the Middle East has so much influence over American politics and politicians
The list is so long,...how can you not see it? From the philosophical (what distinguishes Western Civilization from al others is it's foundation of Judeo-Christian values) to the principled (supporting a functioning libeal democracy in a part of the world woefully lacking in such) to the pragmatic (millions of Americans either are dual citizens or count an immediate family member as an Israeli citizens), to the strategic (building a strong proxy ally to act with us or on behalf of us), to the geopolitical (a strong Israel has been central to stability in a region of enormous consequence to our economy. That's just for starters.
EX: Our boys and girls, our aircraft, were not doing the hard, dangerous job of flying all over Iran taking out one A2D2 site after another to clear a safe pathway for our B2s to do the job of destroying Iranian nuke sites. An air campaign lasting +10 days. What other country could/would have done that for us?
TELL US HOW WE ARE BETTER OFF IGNORING ISRAEL.
Thanks for responding. I would argue the foundation of western civilization derives itself from the Enlightenment, not Judeo-Christianity. Not to mention, the majority of the Israeli population is secular so the nation itself has little influence on those ideas. And who cares if they're a liberal democracy? (Even that title is heavily debated) There are liberal democracies in Africa that we have zero interest in defending? Less than 1% of Americans are dual citizens of Israel. Israel attacked the USS Liberty, vetoed US arms sales, and sold our tech to China. They are a client state that we subsidize as they actively destabilize the region and repeatedly act against our best interests
That's nonsense. The Enlightenment was in the 17th and 28th century. Western civilization was established long before then. It's impossible for an event to be the cause of something that began centuries earlier.
The Enlightenment tends to be overemphasized in western thought. Yes, it was important but other ideas were just as important or more so. The were influenced by the British and Scottish Enlightenments (Locke, Hume, Smith, etc) while the European continent was influenced more by the French Enlightenment (Voltaire, Rousseau, etc). This is an important distinct and helps to explain the huge differences between the American Revolution and the French Revolution. Ours was relatively brief, moderate, and mostly political. The latter was more radical, secular, violent, disruptive, and dangerous. It's also more of a model for later revolutions which tended to be more radical, violent, etc. (Bolshevik, Nazi, Spanish, etc).
Most of our Founding Fathers were devout Christians seeking to create a godly society. The French revolutionaries were secularists with more utopian ideals. They tried to create a new religion! We had no Reign of Terror. The contrasts are extensive.
