Is this before or after the $2000 checks?

The average taxes paid in 2022 was $13890
The bottom 50% paid $822

It would be near impossible to save between $11,000 and $20,000 unless you're in the top 25% of income earners.

Yet his spending bill is a 1.8T deficit? We are running a deficit. We owe 33T. AND, we are going to lower taxes by 11k to 20k per? Fiscal conservatism at work?

Are they trying to destroy the Nation?

They are trying to buy votes. The exact same way Democrats do. It's a total joke that people haven't figured this out.

Like the hearing yesterday, they aren't subtle.

It's an incredible time. I really thought Trump was going to be somewhat fiscally conservative, but not only will he not cut budget, despite making a big show of DOGE, he will cut revenue, despite grandiose claims of wanting to take in more money. He is just another swamp creature in DC. Ruining the next generations with mountains of debt, fewer allies, unsustainable trade wars with every nation on the planet, taking more power for the Executive Branch than ever before....

We will need a major reset after this. I cannot wait to vote to avoid a 3rd Trump term and be done with him forever.

Now, what's on the menu next? War with Iran? The very reason many independents said they couldn't support a Hilary Presidency?

I don't get all the Massie hate

Massie is conservative for sure. The problem is he is a no on about everything, including when his party is in power. IMO sometimes a small win is better than no win. He is not a reliable vote when republicans are in power. If we had a majority of massies and pauls we might actually make some progress on the deficit.

Once again, if we are "the hottest country in the world", why do the American people need $2,000 Trump tariff stimulus checks?

Redistribution of wealth at its very best.
Call it a tax, the people are outraged! Call it a tariff, the people get out their checkbooks and wave their American flags!!!

term limits for Congress are needed badly. It would reduce the corruption and people that just spend all their time working on their next reelection bid and instead focus on solving issues.

This is revisionist history. Or just flat out lying.

Other presidents have bombed more countries.

Then there is the stretch of the word "bomb"

Or the fact some of these actions are continued missions that have happened in these countries since Obama......

That is what you are caught up on???? Others may have bombed more? The "What about-ism" is strong in this room. It is the answer for anything Trump does.

Trump has or is cleaning up a lot of messes that have festered for years/decades. This includes foreign policy. He is far from perfect but is addressing things in a concrete manner instead of just lip service.

Are you familiar with the concept of accuracy versus precision?

Don't spend so much time on precision when accuracy is that point. The exact number or whether Trump is #1 or #2 misses the point. This must be a Board full of accountants...

When I was a kid... older people used to tell me social security wont be around by the time you turn 65 so start saving now!.... now that I am older, I tell young kids start stocking up on guns and ammo because by the time you turn 65 we will have defaulted on the debt and there wont be a country left!

The jury is out... to this point I would consider Trump a peace President. His foreign adventurism has been methodical and measured... but the Israelis are telling all of their lap dogs in Washington DC to push for the war with Iran now... Marco Rubio, Israel's top lap dog, is actively trying to sabotage the negotiations with Iran... Trump sent two Israeli First Zionists to negociate America's interests, Jarred Kushner and Steve Witkoff... the only thing balancing the scale is the Gulf Arabs dont seem to want all out war with Iran right now.

If Trump attacks Iran and fights Israel's war he will destroy his legacy and be know as a war President, the very thing his voters voted against!

They should use the tariff revenue to pay down debt... it will offset the Trump tax cuts and lower inflation which benefits everyone.

Jobs go where the money is. Until healthcare costs are not subsidized by OPM, the costs will continue to rise. Ever since the federal government has been putting up more mandates for insurers and employers, the cost of medical care has skyrocketed.

Just an example of average labor and delivery at a hospital:
2024

1950s
Key 1950s Cost Factors:
  • Average Bill: A 1950 bill was about $131.84, while a 1956 bill was $107.55.
  • Duration: The cost included a much longer hospital stayoften 6 to 7 dayscompared to 12 days today.
  • Components: A 1955 bill showed room/care at $27, delivery room at $15, and nursery at $6.
  • Context: In 1950, this cost was roughly 4% of an average annual salary.
$100 in 1950 is equivalent to $1300 in 2024. We've been getting hosed in medical costs even with the lowering of infant mortality rates (most of which is attributed to DPT vaccination and NICUs).

No sorry. Facts are facts.

Don't claim something or someone is the most when the facts don't back that up. Whether it is Trump, Biden or Baylor football.

But you are so blinded by your Trump hate you miss that I regularly call him out on things. On this thread or others.

But I can also give him praise when he dos something good.

But I can also call out BS when I see it that is twisting things to make him look worse, like this.

Been there with Flbear as well. Flbear doesn't realize when his posts become an attempt to stereotype to try to gain ground in a discussion. I know he's not the only one on here who does, but FlBear seems to think he doesn't do that on purpose. Not even close to as bad as JR.
