This is disappointing. RFK been taking Ls this week.

No doubt lobbyists have been dumping millions of $$$$$ against Kennedy's efforts.

Yep...that was my first thought

My daughter follows Kennedys efforts almost daily…, then sets new rules on what my wife and I can feed her children.

At first I thought it was a bit extreme…..but after making my own investigations…..realize Kennedy is right far more often than wrong.

So maybe that will be Kennedy's real legacy .

In that he got almost everyone far more concerned about exactly what they are consuming.

RFK seems like kind of a kook on some things...but I think he's definitely on the right track with trying to put pressure on companies getting rid of many of the additives they use.

Yet, now he is for Roundup.

outlawing Roundup from ag would crater the ag industry. So much of the industry is predicated on its use....equipment, seed varieties, tillage practices, etc.....

Not saying we could not adjust to a Roundup-free world. Saying that there would need to be a years-long transition plan to keep food prices from soaring due to short supply.

I agree with you on transitioning, it needs to be done right. Not just outlaw. Funny, I was excited about RFK on the food and health stuff, not the medical. He is going tough on medical and backing off food and health!

Just like the wingnut that he is!

Yeah, he was the last person I thought would cave.

This has really disappointed me. There is so much bad stuff in our food. So many ingredients that just don't belong. Like the picture earlier in this thread of how ingredient lists have changed.

Ingredients of many foods should be simple, clean and healthy.

I read a story just this week of the grandson of the inventor of Reese's peanut butter cups calling out the company that owns them now (Hershey I believe) and how they have changed the ingredients. He showed it used to be peanut butter and chocolate (real chocolate) and now to get better shapes for the holiday themes and for cheaper production it is peanut butter type cream, chocolate flavored stuff, sugar, and lots of other stuff.

I had hope that our food would be cleaned up as I think that is a major reason for so many things. Obesity, heart issues, many other medical issues, behavior issues (from reactions in kids to the various dyes), etc.

When you truly look at ingredient lists it can be hard to eat healthy for heart health, losing weight, etc because of what is in things that should be healthy.

So yeah I am disappointed he has caved on this. Something everyone on both sides should be happy about.

What's happening in Greenland?

I think they are going to take care of the sick penguins in Greenland..

Apparently a sailor had to be taken off a US sub for medical treatment in Greenland.

So somehow Trump has turned that into they need a medical ship…..

Not sure how he got to that but there it is.

3 fights in the first 9 seconds.

Tomorrow's game will be epic!

Meh. Crappy fights.

Open hands trying to slap each other. Grabbing each others shirts and then Taking them down. I saw maybe 3 punches land.

I've seen better middle school fights.

did you have recess duty during said fights?

Middle schools usually don't have recess. And haven't for decades.

But go onto YouTube or worldstar and you can see a ton of fights posted.

Sorry if me saying I have seen better fights was so offensive to you that you felt the need to insult….

The elimination of El Mencho is a direct result of President Trump's doctrine treating cartels as foreign terrorist organizationsnot mere criminals. Under the 2025 FTO designations, CJNG's fentanyl trafficking is an armed attack, justifying lethal force under AUMF authority. The $15M reward and joint ops reflect U.S. resolve to dismantle networks poisoning Americans.

Retaliatory violence proves the policy's effectiveness: cartels panic when their leadership burns. Critics crying "escalation" ignored decades of mass death from chemical warfare. This isn't law enforcementit's national defense.

Every CJNG boat sunk and kingpin eliminated weakens their grip. The chaos in Jalisco? Desperation from a cartel realizing its impunity is over.

Except that there is no AUMF pertaining to cartels...an oft overlooked detail.

Devil of a choice

Either poison ourselves from the overuse of herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides……..

or return to the days of massive starvation throughout Asia and Africa.

My vote would be to feed our planet's billions.

My vote is let them starve.

Its really not that difficult to not have 14 kids when you are living in a mud hut.

Not that hard of a choice. Let them starve instead of poisoning ourselves.

I should not be getting poisoned for some people in Asia and Africa. If they haven't figured out how to farm sustainably on their land after thousands of years that is not my fault. I should not be poisoned for them.

So yeah not a difficult choice at all.

Certainly respect your right to your opinion.

However tens of millions have died of starvation as late as the 1960's.

And the world's population is even larger now.

In addition farm acreage is down.

So we either continue to increase our food production per acre or face severe famines. ( in grad school I minored in plant pathology…..without our huge success in manipulating plant genetics we would be in a world of hurt right now )

Without herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides……food production per acre would immediately plummet.

So it is easy to say let em starve …..because none of us have ever been impacted by food shortages…..so far.

( BTW there were massive famines in Europe as late as the 1930's…..several million starved to death. )
