Agreed.

However I think it won't reach a court challenge as Virginia is one of 18 states and DC that have passed this type of legislation.

It has been a movement for about 20 years with different states passing it over time but they won't act on it until enough states pass it to equal 270 electoral votes for member states.

If you look up National Popular Vote Compact you can read more about it.

Right now it is only at 222 and only dem states have passed it.

What is funny is that if it passed it would mean that a republican winner would dominate the election (if they gave their votes to them) as there would be very few dem states not giving their votes to the Republican making the victory seem very lopsided.

For example in the last election if it was in place the following states won by KH would have given their EC votes to Trump:
Virginia
Cali
Oregon
Washington
Colorado
NM
Minn
Illinois
NY
Maryland
Delaware
NJ
Mass
RI
Conn
Vermont
Maine
DC

Leaving Harris with only Hawaii, NH and one Nebraska vote for the electoral college.

President Trump vowed to fire Jerome H. Powell if he opted to stay on at the Federal Reserve after his term as chair ends, doubling down on a criminal investigation into the central bank that is threatening to delay the confirmation of Mr. Powell's successor. Mr. Powell's tenure as chair ends on May 15, but both the law and past precedent suggest that he can serve on a temporary basis until Mr. Trump's pick to replace him, Kevin M. Warsh, is confirmed by the Senate. Mr. Powell can also stay on at the central bank as a governor until 2028.

How many of you are pleased and in favor of Trump renewing his attempt to rewrite history by wiping out the convictions and even records of these January 6 felons?

They were protesting the bogus election of Biden. Joe was a fake POTUS that has darn near ruined America by letting in any illegal immigrant that crossed the border. Another Democrat Disaster.

Kinda amazed that you couldnt read between the rather simple lines of that post. I am in favor of it as it was a bogus election.

It is relevant, BUDOS, because the January 6 prosecutions were blatantly political weapons used to persecute Trump supporters. People who simply protested legally and wandered into buildings because they believed they were ok to do so, were treated as if they violently attacked guards. People were held without access to counsel for weeks, and some were held in solitary confinement solely to coerce confessions.

The committee which was supposed to be looking into the events destroyed much of the evidence, and it's members were hostile to objective inquiry.

There is plenty of reason to throw out most of the convictions.

Kangaroo court convictions deserve such a fate, along with the records of bogus felons. You go, President Trump!

I don't deny part of your statement. But the leaders of the event and the evidence presented regarding their planning and involvement were not innocent, including Trump of seditious behavior.

Seditious behavior is overt conduct, speech, or organization intended to incite rebellion, insurrection, or violent resistance against an established government or its laws. It involves efforts to undermine or overthrow authority through illegal means, ranging from violent riots and armed revolt to distributing subversive materials.

Examples of Seditious Behavior
Sedition covers actions that go beyond simple protest and aim to disrupt or destroy governmental functions, including:

* Inciting Insurrection: Organizing or promoting violent uprisings against the state.
* Seditious Conspiracy: Planning with others to overthrow the government, levy war against it, or oppose its authority by force.
* Violent Resistance: Obstructing, hindering, or delaying the execution of federal laws.
* Seizing Property: Plotting to take over government property or institutions, such as the actions at the U.S. Capitol.
* Subversive Speech/Writing: Distributing material that encourages violence or illegal acts against the government.

Disappointing post from you, BUDOS. Trump was perhaps rude, but solid in his reasons for believing the 2020 election was not clean. Telling as well that you blithely ignore behavior by Democrats in the 2016 and 2024 elections.

Or did you forget that the Democrats lined up celebrities pleading for Electors to betray their states and vote in Hillary? Did you forget all the court cases filed by Democrats when they wanted to undo the election? Did you forget that when Joe Biden pulled out from the 2024 election (at least that's what we were told - Biden at the time initially denied pulling out, and the document was not signed by Biden himself), instead of allowing the Democrat delegates to choose the nominee, Harris was simply announced by the DNC. None of that ethically troubling for you?

The Democrats played every dirty trick they could in 2020, including genuinely violent riots during the summer of 2020. You never mentioned how Biden and Harris made sure most of the worst never saw a courtroom, let alone faced accountability.

The lie that Trump was guilty of some horrible sedition in 2021 was filthy propaganda, especially given the complete lack of responsibility for real violence by Democrats.

I expected better of you.
