22 Years Wiped Out: Another Denver Staple Falls Victim to Policy Failures
It's the end of an era for Denver's dining scene, but more importantly, it's a stark warning sign. After 22 incredible years of serving the community, Table 6 on Sixth Avenue has officially closed its doors. From being named one of the best new restaurants in the country by Esquire in 2004 to becoming a beloved neighborhood anchor, this culinary landmark is now gone.
But Table 6 isn't an isolated incident. It joins a rapidly growing graveyard of longtime Denver institutionsincluding Bistro Barbes, Copper Kettle Brewing, Port Side, The 1Up, and Rock Bottomthat have all shut down recently.
This is what happens when progressive, Democrat-led policies treat small businesses like endless piggy banks. Between skyrocketing regulatory burdens, tax hikes, a hands-off approach to rising crime, and local economic mismanagement, the cost of doing business in Denver area has become entirely unsustainable.
Make no mistake: doubling down on this path and electing more Democrats will only accelerate these disasters. Continuing to vote for the same leadership will simply speed up the destruction of our local economy, turning more vibrant neighborhoods into rows of empty storefronts.
Instead of fostering a thriving environment for hospitality, these hyper-regulated policies are suffocating the very establishments that give our city its character, forcing decades-old staples to close and chasing future entrepreneurs away to business-friendly states. How many more closures will it take before we change direction?
