47% of retirees in the US live completely on Social Security.

Any plan going forward has to take that into account, because the next generation is also wondering how they will survive.

A reasonable pat from you, wow. Yes, if you want to fo away with entitlements, which SS is not really, you have to do it gracefully. Better yet, fix it so SS doesn't lose out to inflation and sustains itself.

Social Security needs to be redone totally. The payout you get from all the money you put in is pitiful.

exactly... We can start a new system for those entering work force but many are too far down path.

Everyone under 30 should cut their losses and the government should contract vanguard or something to manage the fund

You seem surprised I can make sense. Suggests you should revisit your filters.

But to the point on Social Security, it's always been steeped in politics. The third rail, as they say.

Finding a fix is the right answer, because too many Americans lack both the financial discipline and the opportunity at a pension to expect they will retire with any way to survive.

I like the idea of a plan that is like an Index Fund, but how to keep the government from being married to the NYSE is its own nightmare.

That which does not kill me, will try again and get nastier

I had no idea it was that rare before G.W.

Sort of makes it ridiculous that they cannot even pass voter ID, with 80% of the country supporting it, to boot.

Turns out Trump's pool guy cannot fix an issue that has plagued us since the thing was constructed. Who cares though? No idea how a pool gained so much traction. Lots of libtards have spent way more beain cells on the pool than the war. Either one.

Social Security needs to be redone totally. The payout you get from all the money you put in is pitiful.

That's why it should be privatized, the only way for that to happen. The govt does not create anything. It only destroys. The more people realize that fact the better off everyone will be.

This is another idiotic price fixing scam by people who do not understand economics or reality. If this were to happen the only result would be higher prices for everyone. It's quite simple: stores would be forced to raise prices on everything by 10% first so they could keep their doors open after some people get the discount.

Are you kidding??? You say this with a straight face?

IT WAS!! Trump hired who he wanted and paid them what they charged! This in NO WAY went through the typical procurement we do in the road industry. Under typical State or Agency contracts they would have filed a bond and we would have a claim against them to fix it. We would have a CEI that would be responsible to make sure they work was done according to plans. We would never do final acceptance until the work was complete and the CEI signed off/They would be on the hook for this and involved in the settlement. The private sector transaction is the LEAST secure way to provide public infratructure. You do not build and maintain public parks this way.

Using your system it would be a civil court. You really HAVE NO IDEA what you are talking about.

Yeah, we need more of a Lord of the Flies approach... Get you Low T injection...

Social Security is a safety net, nothing more. Never intended to be your pension. It is to make sure IF the Depression ever happens again the elderly can live. You are making into something it is not. The Government should be able to take care of the elderly and provide medical. Civilized societies don't let let the old die in the streets and you shouldn't be ruined because you got sick.

DOJ drops Reflecting Pool charge, citing 'botched' work and contradicting Trump
Trump claims vandals deliberately damaged the pool, but prosecutors dropping charges against David Hearn say a contractor probably rushed installation.

Irony of ironies. The leftist cadre in Congress turned an alleged (though made up from whole cloth) insurrection into a smokescreen for its own seditious efforts.

He's a habitual liar and bs'r

- Stated that President Trump & his Administration are engaging in a cover-up of the Epstein Files: "This is the Epstein Administration." (side note: he lifted this talking point from far-left Senator Ossoff) - 02/15/2026
- Said President Trump is engaging in unconstitutional actions with his strikes in Iran. 6/21/2025
- Constantly digs up old posts from President Trump & VP Vance to taunt them with. Various dates.
- "Trump is infamous for making terrible endorsements." 2/24/2026
- Said on CNN that President Trump used racist tropes & demanded he apologize to the Obamas. 2/8/2026
-Said President Trump needs to "tone down his rhetoric" after Charlie Kirk's ass*ssination. 9/11/2025
- Said that President Trump's war powers are not his: 3/4/2026

RE: Him Voting With President Trump 91% of the Time in Congress

This is very misleading. The 91% figure is his average party alignment percentage that factors in his performance over his entire career.

For this 119th Congress, however, he votes against President Trump at least 22% of the time, which means he has recently been voting with Trump only 78% of the time. This is more than any other current sitting Republican in Congress' House of Representatives. Massie has voted against President Trump 76 times so far during this term.

Thomas Massie is as dishonest as it gets. His district is seeing this. Many residents were interviewed recently saying they've soured on him & don't like that he votes with the left on a lot of bills. Boone County GOP had a meeting the other night & defeated a resolution that would allow for them to break tradition & endorse Thomas Massie. It was defeated in a landslide by 50-28. Boone is one of the largest counties in Massie's district.
