What in the hell is Trump trying to accomplish by renaming the Gulf of Mexico? Is this somehow going to help all Americans and make America great again? Or is this some sort of virtue signaling to his base?

The renaming of military bases, mountains, public parks, civil buildings, and other assets and the taking down of hundreds of historic statues in the name of Left wing cultural priorities?

Trump likes to stir the pot. Maybe it's misdirection. As the left media is losing their minds over this and spending time and resources trying to make it seem to their sheep like viewers like its the end of the world, Trump is up to something else. He manipulates them if you haven't noticed. Maybe he is simply trolling them. I don't know.

As the obvious choice in the last election, I support Trump and I really don't care what everyone calls the Gulf. But it is entertaining watching some people pull out their hair about a name change.

Interesting outrage considering the amount of public places, sports teams and other venues that have been renamed by the left.

Mexico is a country that attacked Texas. We should not glorify Mexico by naming a beautiful body of water after them. Many Mexican also fought along with the south in the Civil War, so per liberals, anything to do with the south in the Civil War needs to be renamed, hence, renaming to Gulf of America.

The Gulf of Mexico was used for slave trade and a resource for stealing native peoples land. Since it can't be moved or filled in, renaming is the logical choice as set by so many woke organizations and universities.

Naming it after the nation that had promoted more freedom than any other seems very logical…. and woke.

Thats what I think it may be. Biden outlawed any future drilling from Alabama eastward and I know for a fact there are several rigs out off of Gulf Shores and Fort Morgan.
