He is giving shelter and provisions for a foreigner?

When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt.".

Twisting scripture is dangerous "preacher".

All I did was quote a scripture that explains a common theme in the Bible.

I don't know anything about the democrat governor.

Yes, you are twisting scripture. The text you mentioned was clearly not about law breakers. It's laughable to suggest so. The text you used makes that clear as well. You wish to play ignorant, I get it.

Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God's people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.

That entire passage is talking about Gentiles being able to be in the new system of Christianity... the church. It has zero to do with illegal immigration. Wow.

If you keep quoting scripture without context, you're going to push falsehoods.

It's not enough to simply read a sentence out of the Bible, you have to incorporate the chapter entirely to fully understand.

We're called to love everyone, our neighbor, one another and our enemies.

The foreigner was expected to hold the same faith in God (through the promise of Christ, as He was revealed in the OT).

Assimilate to the culture and customs of the people

Obey the Law of the nation.

Be subject to all judgments of said Law (Numbers 15:15)

While the foreigner's compliance with these requirements had to be of their own willingness, those were the rules. There were benefits for following them and there were consequences for breaking them.

I have not lectured anyone. I merely quoted some scripture about strangers and foreigners. Who would have thought that was so offensive on a Baylor board.?

Instead of personal attacks and lies maybe someone could come up with scriptures that tells us how we are really supposed to treat the strangers and foreigners? Here is a good list:

You shall also love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
Deuteronomy 10:19
'Cursed is anyone who withholds justice from the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow.' Then all the people shall say, 'Amen!'
Deuteronomy 27:19

The Lord watches over the strangers; he upholds the orphan and the widow, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.
Psalm146:9
For if you truly amend your ways and your doings, if you truly act justly one with another, if you do not oppress the alien, the orphan, and the widow, or shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not go after other gods to your own hurt, then I will dwell with you in this place, in the land that I gave of old to your ancestors forever and ever.
Jeremiah 7:5-7

You shall allot it as an inheritance for yourselves and for the aliens who reside among you and have begotten children among you. They shall be to you as citizens of Israel; with you they shall be allotted an inheritance among the tribes of Israel.
Ezekiel 47:22
Thus says the Lord of hosts: Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another; do not oppress the widow, the orphan, the alien, or the poor; and do not devise evil in your hearts against one another.
Zechariah 7:9-10
You have heard that it was said, 'you shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy'. But I say to you, love your enemy and pray for those who persecute you.
Matthew 5:43-44
I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.
Matthew 25:35
Truly I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of my brethren you did it to me.
Matthew 25:40
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.
Luke 10:27
Then Peter began to speak to them: "I truly understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.
Acts 10:34
Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers.
Romans 12:13
Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.
Romans 13:8
Love does no wrong to a neighbor, therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
Romans 13:10
In that renewal there is no longer Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and free; but Christ is all and in all.
Colossians 3:11
Let mutual love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it. Remember those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them; those who are being tortured, as though you yourselves were being tortured.
Hebrews 13:1-3
Beloved, you do faithfully whatever you do for the friends, even though they are strangers to you; they have testified to your love before the church. You do well to send them on in a manner worthy of God; for they began their journey for the sake of Christ, accepting no support from non-believers. Therefore we ought to support such people, so that they may become co-workers with the truth.

Good Doc. I agree there are outlaws and bad people that should be kicked out. Immigrants commit crime at a much lower rate than Americans. Several studies show this. The wole dust up about immigrants causing a crime wave is just not true. Kicking law breakers out no matter where they are from would improve America.

Every illegal immigrant has committed a crime by trespassing unlawfully,

Our lack of cracking down on the border has made way for hundreds of thousands of children to be sex trafficked.

You're being way too elementary and making a huge mistake by believing its as simple as good people that want a chance in the US. If we do nothing, we allow extremely EVIL things to happen.

Also, we don't need your permission and we're no longer persuaded by your attempts to claim hypocrisy on the subject. Your left leaning nonsense is no longer valid. We're tired of ya'lls bs. You don't have power.

Just like the slaves before them in the cotton fields. Let's have a permanent underclass of slaves that we don't have to pay living wages to, or worry about work place safety laws, and if they ***** too much, we replace them with other slaves that will do the job.

How very democratic and compassionate the slave system is.

Should the market or the gov. determine hourly wages? American farmers, hospitals, restuarants etc. need the low wage workers. Even though it's low to us it better than they can make at home.

What's going to happen to grocery prices? I was told by Trump he could fix inflation in a week and lower groceries. The combo of kicking out workers and putting tarrifs on countries that produce large amounts of our food will drive prices up. Does anyone really believe Trump can bully everyone and keep his promises?

Now there never was anyone in the governor's house according to his people. What a carnival barker.

Should the market or the gov. determine hourly wages?

That debate is over. The government set the minimum wage. Going to have to change those laws, not act is if they are not there.

American farmers, hospitals, restaurants etc. need the low wage workers.

See above. It is illegal to employ people at wages below the minimum. Going to have to change those laws, not act is if they are not there. Heck, why not go back to employing children? They are cheap and rarely *****.

Even though it's low to us it better than they can make at home.

So the answer is to treat them worse than Americans but slightly better than their home countries? A homeless man comes to you hungry and your answer is to give him only half a sandwich? Sorry this will not fill you up but hey, its better than what you had? Be thankful because if you are not, I will just go find another one just like you.

What's going to happen to grocery prices?

You seemed to favor the market when it comes to wages, why should not grocery prices reflect the market? Wages, safety, child labor laws are all part of the market.

Kicking out workers

Do we really need murders, child molesters, and drug traffickers performing work? ICE seems to be operating in urban areas - not many crops there.

He is giving shelter and provisions for a foreigner?

When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt.".

The Bible clearly reads "when a criminal resides among you do not mistreat them... Shelter them from law enforcement"

Twisting scripture is dangerous "preacher".

All I did was quote a scripture that explains a common theme in the Bible.

I don't know anything about the democrat governor.

What's really crazy is that God knows our heart. He knows if the governor interest is in serving others or himself.
