The idea that there are cities where you can receive sanctuary from the reaches of the law is opposite of the oath a public official takes when swearing into office.

I've never understood the illegality of sanctuary cities actions simply being accepted.

Probably the biggest pushback they will get here are from those that profit
from illegal immigrants arriving here.

Some municipalities and some para-religious organizations profit
greatly from immigration.
