Shapriro makes a strong case on the wording of the 14th amendment. There are 2 conditions on which you are granted birthright citizenship. 1st is that you are born here. But 2nd is that you are under the jurisdiction thereof. Meaning you are not under the jurisdiction of another nation, such as Mexico (visa holders, ambassadors, illegals).
14th Amendment: "A person born or naturalized in the united states AND subject to the jurisdiction thereof"
Under the jurisdiction would exclude children of diplomats, certain tribes, and any enemy forces occupying land. The enemy force hasn't been applied to my knowledge but it certainly was highly debated with little disagreement.
So the easiest path to exclude their citizenship seems obvious

Any lawyers on here want to chime in? Yogi?
It doesn't make sense at any level. Why would a citizen from another country have a child in the US and that child is automatically a citizen? It's beyond dumb.

It only makes sense if you are a lib and you want to "grow" entitlement voters aka Dems.

true, its plain dumb to even think so
Its a warping of the language of the amendment and its historically facts.
Just like many progressives do with the 2nd Amendment (trying to argue you have to be part of a militia to get the benefit of gun ownership)
[Critics claim that anyone born in the United States is automatically a U.S. citizen, even if their parents are here illegally. But that ignores the text and legislative history of the 14th Amendment, which was ratified in 1868 to extend citizenship to freed slaves and their children. The 14th Amendment doesn't say that all persons born in the U.S. are citizens. It says that "[a]ll persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof" are citizens. That second, critical, conditional phrase is conveniently ignored or misinterpreted by advocates of "birthright" citizenship. Critics erroneously believe that anyone present in the United States has "subjected" himself "to the jurisdiction" of the United States, which would extend citizenship to the children of tourists, diplomats, and illegal aliens alike. But that is not what that qualifying phrase means. Its original meaning refers to the political allegiance of an individual and the jurisdiction that a foreign government has over that individual. The fact that a tourist or illegal alien is subject to our laws and our courts if they violate our laws does not place them within the political "jurisdiction" of the United States as that phrase was defined by the framers of the 14th Amendment.]
The fascists want more illegals who they can manipulate to help them steal elections forever. They don't even care about the people they claim to be helping. Many of them are victims of sex trafficking & other violent crimes. The fascists look the other way because their power is more import than anything. Unfortunately, many of them are probably pedos & other sexual predators like Bill Clinton & who knows how many others.
