Sadly, I fear this will turn into a way to manipulate politicians. On the surface, it sounds great. Clean out the trash. The problem is, this is how it will go:

Musk: "Senator X, we see you have a pretty good slush fund setup for yourself once you leave office."

Senator X: "What are you talking about, there is no such thing."

Musk: "Don't play dumb, we have the paper trail."

Senator X: "Ok, so what now?"

Musk: "We can look the other way if you do exactly what we say."

Senator X: "You have my full allegiance if you don't expose my piggy bank."

Musk: "Deal."

If you are trying to blackmail politicians to get them to do exactly what you want them to do, this is a great tactic. I don't think this is the best thing for the republic necessarily though because I doubt it will be handled by an impartial 3rd party.

No this is what is already happening.

It would not work with Musk/Trump and the majority of politicians for them to just suddenly start working with him when they have been so against anything he does.

Everyone would see right through them suddenly switching and supporting him
