The problem is that most US people who want to support Ukraine don't understand that is exactly who the West is now. They're progressive tyrants. Unfortunately they are "our" progressive tyrants, allies for what that is worth. But none of the West countries are worth an American life, on their own anyway. All comes down to long term strategic value.
Sad that is what the West has become.

Cant argue with that. Soros funded the left wing in this last election and many folks simply didn't vote for the Tories for what you say. However Reform UK got 14% of the national vote. It didn't help that the EU screwed them to the wall post Brexit in hope that a new group would rejoin the EU.

Tories are looking at joining with Reform UK. Should be some interesting next few years in Europe

Since when is no immigrants normal. Britain has a huge amount of immigrants from former colonies. Always has.

London is NYC/LA/San Fran
Liverpool is more like Boston. More working class. Still a large city and what we would call left of center but labor union left not dress up fairy left.

They are both tough, nasty places. I only went there once, but they both were similar to what I experienced in Pittsburgh. Rough steel towns. I worked with several casino techs on board my ship from Liverpool, all they talked about was all the tough guys, mob, fighting and so forth. One refused to go home on leave. I told him that he had to go back for his Visa per the regulations of the day.
Not sure what today's immigration procedures are, but London had already gone bat **** crazy.
LIverpool/Manchester have a lot of Irish, Welsh, Chinese and some Somali immigrants. I assume they are legal, but wouldn't swear to that. To the best of my knowledge, not so much of other African migrants. But that is only from what I read on the internet.

Used to be India was the top group migrating. Now it appears a TON more from Islamic nations and northern Africa.
