They're not going to learn but only double-down.

Everyone is tired of remaking classics with Didn't Earn It characters:
1. It's just silly, especially when they put a Didn't Earn It to play a historical character
2. It's hypocritical - IIRC the uproar over Filthy Rich Asians when they had the wrong kind of Asians playing some characters - imagine having a white guy play Othello or Black Panther
3. It's shows how little they disregard minorities by not investing in new IP for minority actors

Disney has destroyed Star Wars and now it will destroy its own IP with THE MESSAGE!

BTW - highly recommend checking out The Critical Drinker on YouTube for hilarious movie reviews.

The problem is they made the movie about 4 years too late. If they had released it right as Biden took office, it may have only lost $50 million.

Releasing it now is like rolling out a brand new DEI program for a major corporation. Dumb Emotional Intelligence.

They either need a complete remake with new actors or chalk it up to sunk cost.

I saw a preview and I believe they made the dwarves actual dwarves and not a weird collection of misfits but it's likely to still tank.

Speaking of ... in a real dick move Peter Dinkledge (world's most famous dwarf) apparently was "offended" by casting actual dwarves and cost nine people really good jobs. Then they moved to the Didn't Earn It misfits and settled on creepy CGI. I watched the preview, and it is souless ... CDI is bad most of the time but having nine "stars" as CGI is just terrible.

I think the same thing happened with one of my favorite flicks "Time Bandits". Got a TV series that came out this past year and had full size actors instead of dwarfs due to same crap. Total bomb!

Just saw that Marc Webb is directing it. He was our director on "Lone Star". I was Jon Voight's stand in for the show.

Marc and me about 3am after a day of shooting.

Well they lost my ticket sale….. then again I haven't been to a theater in years and had not heard of this movie until this thread…..

But Disney will not learn. They blame the fans for failed movies or shows and then at the same time keep pushing things on people that they don't want.

Look at the Acolyte. It was awful. And not just because of the agenda items they pushed. Just bad writing, story, etc. Just like the last 3 movies.

Exactly. They don't listen to the fans.

Disney just doesn't get it. They could make a movie about a historical event say a battle like Waterloo and totally change all the characters- Wellington is a lesbian, Napoleon is transgender, the armies are made up of all races even Asians, etc. and then they would complain that no one watched it and just not understand why it failed.

The Acolyte may have destroyed Star Wars. They went full transgressive and not only had the Didn't Earn Its but also tried to undo lots of canon.

I'm convinced Disney just has money to burn. You keep putting out pieces of crap that lose millions and they just continue...

Loved the movie. I would still rewatch it for the 10th or so time. Not many movies I would do that for!

The globalist corporations get it. They know what they are doing. They are in bed with other globalists, their political allies and their media allies. It's not out of touch, they know that what they are pushing is unpopular. But their job is to push the agenda far to make cultural shifts. They've succeeded. The culture is forever changed to the sexual deviant left. These people aren't as stupid as some of you want to believe. Temporarily losing some money is understood, and their allies will make sure they continue to stay in power. Right now there is a bit of a pause while they re-entrench themselves into the trust of every day Americans. They will rinse and repeat their culture push to the Left over decades.

To your point I've noticed at least a couple of recently made WWII era movies that portray the US military as being integrated at the time. One of the movies was "Lee" (about the female photographer Lee Miller who took some iconic horrific pics regarding the Holocaust). There was a combat scene that depicted a black Major in command of white soldiers which is simply historically inaccurate as at the time black soldiers and white soldiers served in segregated units. Not suggesting that was a good thing - just pointing out that's historically the way it was and it's silly at best to mis-portray something just because you disagree with what the situation was at that point in history.
