What do actual New Yorkers think of this? I thought I read that many people weren't fans of congestion pricing. I'm sure they will change their tune once they hear Trump is getting rid of it

Congestion pricing has great intentions as do many policies. In effect, it is a tax on poor people. Either they have to pay extra money (they may not have), find alternate modes of transportation (which may be costly to them) or avoid the area (which may not be an option).

But wealthy people just pay up and move on. They can afford it. It's actually a tax to allow wealthy people to have less congested traffic at the expense of poor people. Liberals love those kinds of policies. They just defend them as "saving the environment" or "climate change" policies to cloak themselves in virtueness.

i avoid the express lanes, not paying $40-80 a week to get there 5 minutes faster..

Trump revoked federal approval for the tolls that had been permitted through a Federal Highway Administration pilot program started under Joe Biden. I'm sure she will figure out someway to screw NYers without federal approval.

Politically, this is a genius move. Tolls are extraordinarily regressive, and the voters will love him for it. The rich white women that live in Manhattan will be the most angry because it does not impact them.
