Obama library problems

Only a godless progressive goon like Obama could spend upwards of $1B on the ugliest library ever that is years delayed. I wonder how much of our tax dollars were siphoned to help pay for this disaster.

I'm sure some tax money is (was) spent on infrastructure
Just another in a long list of DEI disasters and boondoggles.
Can anyone site even one example of where leading with DEI actually improved anything or made anything run better beyond allowing undeserving people to acquire jobs they didn't qualify for on merit??

Good reason?
We need a place to store all the junk, official papers, and State gifts that Presidents receive and accrue during their term.
Also they tend to make money eventually as tourist attractions and rental events centers in the area they are built
The bad reason?
Donors are buying influence with cash gifts/pledges and there is a lot of graft/corruption with the construction
And they end up being mythos making/vanity projects extolling the former President
Obama's I am sure will be insufferable in how it worships him

Presidential libraries do provide a repository of information that can be used for historical research. But they also serve other functions, both positive & negative, as noted.
It would make more sense for everything to be stored in Washington so that researchers wouldn't have to travel all across the country. If it were under the authority of the National Archived or Library of Congress, it might should some of the problems associated with regional centers but we also know all to well how politicized every branch of the government can be.
That may be Joe Biden's only true accomplishment: making clear to everyone how corrupt, incompetent, & tyrannical our government can be. One only needs to open one's eyes to see it.

I was curious so I did some research. The National Archives and Records Administration has possession and control of the Obama administration records. They are not going to be held in Chicago. The Obama presidential library is basically a private museum to celebrate the Obama years. Usually presidential libraries are part archives that are government controlled and part private museum run by fans of that presidency. The Obama library is unique in that the public facing facility is totally controlled by the Obamas and their hand picked board.
